[Edit this paragraph] Development planning
Before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the expansion project of Pudong International Airport, including the second terminal, the third runway and the west freight area, will be completed and put into use. By then, the annual passenger support capacity of Pudong International Airport will reach 60 million passengers and the annual mail handling capacity will reach 4.2 million tons.
In June 2005, the expansion project of Pudong International Airport was fully launched. As an important part of the project, the theme of Terminal 2 is named "Ground", which is in sharp contrast with the "sky" of Terminal 1. The so-called "land" is to let passengers step into the T2 terminal and feel the ordinary, simple and incomparably rich land. All these changes come from the "people-oriented" design concept.
In the design and construction of the second terminal and other expansion projects, Scientific Outlook on Development's requirements have been fully reflected, and the design concepts of "meeting the operational needs of base airlines and their alliance hubs" and "people-oriented, maximizing the convenience for passengers" have been strengthened. Whether in process design, facility layout, environment, or even ground transportation transfer, it is necessary to fully reflect the needs of hub operation and humanized requirements.
Passengers transfer quickly and conveniently.
Terminal T2 adopts a three-story terminal structure, which is convenient for passengers to transfer. Terminal T2 is divided into three passenger activity floors from top to bottom: international departure floor (13.6m), international arrival floor (8.4m) and domestic departure-arrival mixed-flow floor (4.2m).
This "three-story terminal structure" can better adapt to the central operation of airlines; It can better adapt to the characteristics of Shanghai's large proportion of international and domestic transit passengers and staggered international and domestic flights, maximize the use of convertible seats and maximize the use efficiency of nearby seats. All kinds of transit and transit passengers of airlines operating in T2 are completed in the central part of the terminal building, which is very convenient. For the first time, T2 Terminal has designed a "mixed-flow floor" (4.2M) for domestic departure and arrival, so that domestic departure and arrival passengers are on the same floor, which is convenient for passengers to transfer and beneficial to the formation of domestic hubs.
Because the main building is concentrated in the north area, the distance between buildings is less than 500 meters, and the facilities for passenger ticket purchase and baggage handling are centralized, which is convenient for airlines to flexibly deploy and use. Considering that in actual operation, base airlines and their alliances are generally concentrated in the same building for hub operation, therefore, the transit time of most passengers will be much shorter than the shortest time required for hub operation.
The transportation center highlights the concept of integration
According to the idea of forming an "integrated hub", an "integrated transportation center" will be built between T 1 and T2 hub. The center is equipped with transportation functions such as rail transit, magnetic levitation, coach, bus and taxi station, parking garage and waiting room, and a large number of baggage-free check-in counters and commercial facilities are also designed.
The design of the comprehensive transportation center well avoids the problem of insufficient land lane edge brought by the centralized terminal building. By moving the lane edge of all social vehicles to the parking garage, all public transportation will be designed at both sides of the rail transit station, taxis, buses and VIP cars will be designed at the edge of the arrival lane near the terminal building, and all buses and taxis on the departure floor will be designed at the edge of the departure lane to facilitate passengers to transfer.
In addition, the designer put the arrival floor, which is usually arranged on the zero-meter floor, on the 6-meter floor. In this way, passengers can smoothly enter the comprehensive transportation center, and then enter the lane that everyone should take to realize the diversion of people and vehicles.
Terminal 2
Located on the east side of Terminal 1, with a building area of 480,000 square meters, it fully reflects the requirements of Scientific Outlook on Development and strengthens the design concepts of "meeting the operational needs of base airlines and their alliance hubs" and "people-oriented, maximizing the convenience for passengers".
● Presenting "Four Highlights"
The expansion project of Pudong International Airport, which has attracted much attention, will sail at 0: 00 on March 26th. By then, the annual design support capacity of Pudong International Airport will reach 60 million passengers, 4.2 million tons of New Year mail and 490,000 flights. This is the news released at the press conference of the municipal government on the afternoon of March 24th.
The person in charge of Shanghai Airport said at the press conference that the expansion project has "four bright spots":
Good energy saving and environmental protection. According to the analysis, compared with the original design without optimization, the annual energy saving is 54.9%, 65.438+0.3 billion kWh and 50.8% respectively.
High technology content. The expansion project has carried out 23 scientific research projects, many of which have reached the international advanced level.
Excellent operation management. The expansion project of Pudong International Airport has built five "centers", including the airport operation command center. The five centers "unified command and regional management" have greatly improved the efficiency of airport operation and management.
Strong freight capacity. The designed annual throughput of the West Freight Area is 6,543,800 tons. After it is put into use, the cargo throughput of Pudong Airport is expected to become the first in the world.
● Publish the driving route
On March 24th, Pudong Airport released the driving routes of various vehicles after the opening of Terminal 2.
Among them, to pick up passenger cars (including tourist buses) at Terminal 1, you need to enter Pudong Airport from A 1, reach the arrival floor at Terminal 1 and enter the parking building to pick up passengers. To get to Terminal 2, you need to enter Pudong Airport from A 1, go directly to the arrival floor of Terminal 2 from the South Interchange, and enter the parking building to pick up the plane.
To take the bus (including the tourist bus) to Terminal 1, you need to enter Pudong Airport from A 1, get off at the departure floor of Terminal 1 directly, and then take the south interchange to A 1 and leave the airport. To reach Terminal 2, you need to enter Pudong Airport from A 1, get off at the departure floor of Terminal 2 from the South Interchange, and leave the airport directly from A 1.
● "Transit" is faster.
At the press conference of the municipal government held on March 24th, Li Derun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Airport Group, executive vice president and executive deputy commander of Shanghai Airport Construction Command, said that Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 will be connected through the transportation center to form an integrated terminal comprehensive layout, which is more in line with the development trend of world-class aviation hub ports. At the same time, through the research on the baggage system, it will be the first time to realize the "person-bag correspondence" in the airport baggage security inspection system in China. If there is a sudden crisis, you can quickly extract the relevant information of passengers and luggage and deal with the problem quickly.
● New push 10 commitment.
At the special press conference of the municipal government on March 24th, Jia Ruijun, general manager of Shanghai International Airport Co., Ltd., introduced that Terminal 2 of Pudong International Airport, which will be officially opened, will bring new experiences to Chinese and foreign tourists with advanced facilities and humanized services.
