1. Tickets for Panmen Scenic Area 60 yuan
Panmen was built in the Spring and Autumn Period (5 14 BC) and rebuilt at the end of Yuan Dynasty. The tower was rebuilt in the early summer of 1986. Panmen is the only well-preserved land and water gate in Suzhou ancient city. It consists of two sluice gates, three underground sluice gates and an urn. The land gate is divided into two parts: the inside and the outside. There is an "urn" between the two city gates, which can hide hundreds of people in case of sudden attack. Watertown gate and land gate are adjacent, and it is also a masonry structure, which is divided into two parts. The land and water gates are equipped with enough gates for ministers to pass through. In ancient times, they were released or closed by turning the car, which could control pedestrians and ships and facilitate fortification and guarding the city.
Panmen scenic spot is located in the southwest corner of Suzhou ancient city, with many historical sites and rich cultural landscape. Ruiguang Tower, Shuilumen and Wumenqiao in the scenic area are national, provincial and municipal cultural relics protection units respectively. In order to carry forward the history and culture and accelerate the development of tourism, in recent years, Panmen Scenic Area has restored the ancient city wall, rectified the Ruiguang Pagoda, rebuilt Siruitang and Wuxiang Temple, and released the pool. It also built three mountains and one pool, planted trees and grass, and carefully built scenic spots such as Lijinglou, Taoyin Cuiye, Shuangting Covered Bridge and Shuilian Cave. The scenic spot has become a unique historical and cultural tourist attraction in Suzhou.
2. Xumen (Baihuazhou Park) is free.
Suzhou Xumen is located in the west and south of Wannian Bridge. 1982 is listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Suzhou.
Xumen, which runs from east to west, is one of the Gu Men built by Wu in the Spring and Autumn Period. It is named after Gusu Mountain (namely Gusu Mountain). "Suzhou Fuzhi" says: "Xumen, Ximenye, in the south of Nagato, is named Guxumen." The existing city gate was rebuilt in the 11th year of Yuan Dynasty (135 1) and in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The gates of the ancient city of Suzhou are all juxtaposed by land and water, but Xumen is like the flood control city of Taihu Lake, and there was no water gate for a long time after the Song and Yuan Dynasties. The original urn was built in 16 years in Zhang Shicheng, Zheng Zheng, and was demolished in the Republic of China.
The existing portal consists of three brick arches, the second of which intersects the first and third vertically, and its structure is the same as that of the inner door of the pan door. The arch is 4.65m high, 3.3m wide and11.45m deep. There are still banners in the east (in the city), the word "Xumen" has been destroyed, and the brick carving is being repaired. The flowers are very simple. The left and right residual walls at the entrance are about 65 meters long and 7.2 meters high, and the masonry is relatively complete. Few bricks and stones have been preserved in the west (outside the city). Xumen and Panmen are the existing ancient city gates in Suzhou.
