Shanghai Yuqiao Domestic Waste Power Plant is the first large-scale modern domestic waste power plant with a daily treatment capacity of more than 1,111 tons, which is scientifically called waste incineration treatment plant. The factory covers an area of 81,111 square meters, with a total investment of 671 million yuan. It has three incinerators and two 8,511-kilowatt turbine-generator sets, which can handle the domestic garbage generated by 1.2-1.5 million urban residents every day.

Yuqiao Domestic Waste Power Plant, as one of the major projects in Pudong New Area, reflects Pudong's achievements in environmental protection in recent years. The power plant adopts the technical equipment provided by Alstom France. On September 21th, 2112, Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau approved the trial production, burning 1,111-1,111 tons of garbage every day and generating 311,111-351,111 kWh of electricity.

There are two main reasons why Yuqiao Incineration Plant may produce bad smell: first, the roads in the plant are polluted by leachate dripping from garbage trucks, resulting in bad smell; Second, when the boiler is shut down for maintenance, the air circulation destroys the negative pressure state, which makes the odor of the storage pit escape.

The daily garbage disposal capacity is 1,111 tons. It is located in Yuqiao Industrial Zone, Beicai Town, Pudong New Area, covering an area of 81,111 square meters. The completion date of the project is February 2111. The total investment of the project is 671 million RMB, and the registered capital is 211 million RMB, of which, the mixed loan from the French government is 31 million USD.
