Beijing Shichahai Yandaixie Street was officially awarded as "China Historical and Cultural Street" by the Ministry of Culture, National Cultural Heritage Administration and other units on October 1, 2111. As the second project awarded as "China Historical and Cultural Street" after Andingmen Guozijian Street in Dongcheng District of Beijing was awarded as "China Historical and Cultural Street" in 2119, Yandaixie Street will focus on creating outstanding Beijing flavor culture and folk culture. Yandai Xiejie is located in front of Drum Tower in Di 'anmenwai Street, Beijing, on the north side of Shichahai Qianhai, with a total length of about 232 meters and a width of 5 to 6 meters. Yandai Xiejie was founded in Yuan Dynasty, and mainly engaged in smoking sets, mounted calligraphy and painting and antique jade articles in the late Qing Dynasty. Commercial formats include retail industry with handicrafts, clothing and accessories, and accommodation and catering industry with restaurants, bars and budget hotels. Experts believe that Yandai Xiejie was selected as the "Famous Historical and Cultural Street in China" because its hutong texture and basic architectural style have not changed, and the continuity of residents' life has been passed down. The protection of historical blocks rich in historical and cultural information and urban memory has achieved initial results.
Ye Baolin, a contemporary poet, wrote down the well-known seven laws "Smoke Bag Inclined Street" when he visited the smoke bag inclined street:
After the sea waves are cold, the willow fog is cool, and a smoke bag lights the sun.
the silver bridge can carry the weight of the western hills, and the old shops still fly and explode.
the dream falls, the nose pot smells drunk, and the soul wanders around the tile lane and turns melodious.
The diagonal street is shorter than the smoke pole, and the steps are longer in Ming and Qing dynasties.
