It is in line with this design principle that AmataLuphaiboon and TwiteeVajrabhaya, design partners of DepartmentofARCHITECTURECo, Ltd., won the silver prize of SiameseArchitects for their * * * jointly designed Buji SALA project, which is the first-class honor of Thai architects.
As a new architectural design studio, the DepartmentofARCHITECTURECo has created Buji SALA with respect for local culture, absorption of Asian culture and integration of modern concepts. Instead of using the planning concept of traditional hotels, it has created a secluded retreat with a unique appearance and a tranquil and contemporary atmosphere.
antique building technology
"We reinterpret the authentic technology and craft of typical Chinese and Portuguese buildings in Buji, and reproduce the architectural tradition of ancient town buildings, such as using wood carving, plastering and colored cement bricks, and Buji gave SALA a unique appearance." The designer injected the unique Chinese-Portuguese tradition of Buji into the design of the resort, creating a fascinating combination of China color and neutral modern color. For China, where there are many ancient buildings, this experience may be of more reference value.
The whole resort is based on pure white and olive gray, decorated with a touch of bright red, and decorated with Chinese and Portuguese traditional pattern tiles, focusing on brand-new space design to fully attract people's senses, so as to give people a new experience.
Buji SALA is a large and complex architectural design project, and many elements are added to each part based on the basic concepts. The appearance of the building focuses more on simplicity than glitz. From stepping into the resort, passing through the public rest space, arriving at the seaside area, until seeing the vast sea, the space design of this whole journey is to arouse people's different sensory experiences. The white theme brings a bright and brisk feeling, while the low-key gray tone adds a modern effect. Different shades of black and red are used to separate different areas. "The reception desk can leave a deeper first impression on people, so we decided to use more bright and dazzling colors." The designer's design philosophy is to respect local culture and human needs.
Chinese culture is one of the inspiration sources for the decoration design in the resort, and it has created a unique design focus. For example, a large-scale Chinese birdcage made by a special person with a flashing chandelier inside it not only exudes ancient culture, but also has a strong modern flavor; The indoor furniture inspired by the traditional Chinese medicine cabinet also puts the ancient Chinese elements in a fresh coat; Those white and comfortable chaise longues in Chi Pan, with meaningful and exquisite wall decoration, set off a modern fashion atmosphere of freehand brushwork.

All gardens have their own atmosphere, one of which is a misty corridor garden-the passage is surrounded by mist and water, creating a mysterious atmosphere between heaven and earth, which makes people suddenly relax. This design also serves the function of humidifying and cooling the building and indoor environment. It is like a natural air conditioner, creating a constant comfortable space in an extremely natural way.
restaurants and bars are designed to "extend along the coastline". The designer said that it is also to bring a vast and unobstructed landscape. In order to pay attention to expanding the vast outdoor and indoor space, the designer deliberately hides the dividing line that divides the two and the surrounding environment. There are no walls and columns are not distributed in a straight line to avoid boundaries. The top-floor restaurant has the most beautiful scenery of the resort, and "water element enhances the dining experience" is also the design highlight of the resort. Its design scheme breaks the tradition-there is no fence around, eliminating the inherent cramped feeling for the whole space, surrounded by water, and the dining chairs are like sinking below the water surface, making the whole area seem to be suspended above the top-floor lake, so that the space that people can enjoy can be infinitely extended with the line of sight.
