My hometown Taigu in my memory
At the moment, I am sitting in front of the computer. Although my eyes are constantly browsing the news about Taigu, my thoughts have drifted back to Taigu 30 years ago.

According to legend, in the Qing Dynasty, there was a rich woman in Gouzi Village south of Taigu. She likes eating cakes. It happened that this young lady talked back and was always dissatisfied with the cakes bought by her servants, which worried everyone.

It is said that when Cixi traveled to the west, she also took a keen interest in Taikoo Cake and presented it to the court as a tribute. At this point, the value of Taikoo cake increased sharply, and soon it became famous in China and became a delicious food on the tip of the tongue.

In my memory, the Drum Tower 30 years ago was the landmark building of Taigu. Every year on the fifteenth day of the first month, a street in the Drum Tower is always covered with all kinds of lanterns.

Speaking of drum tower, I can't help thinking of Taikoo cake. In my memory, the product of the perfect combination of the two is drum tower brand Taikoo cake. Until I was in high school, I would secretly put a bag of "Drum Tower" Taikoo cakes in my schoolbag.

When the telephone spread to every household, my mother always called her aunt who lived in the same village as her grandmother before returning to her home. "Sister, is there any water in the river?" The river in my mother's mouth is Uma River.

With a flick of a finger, I have entered the threshold of the year of no doubt. The once peaceful picture on the banks of the Uma River will never disappear. And my dad's sentence, "You picked it up from the ash slope, and your sister picked it up from the Wuma River."

Today's Taigu is shrouded in the haze of the epidemic. After a phone call, I finally learned that my relatives in my hometown were safe and sound. We have repeatedly promised everyone to be obedient and not to run around.

In 2022, our anti-epidemic work has lasted for two years and accumulated a lot of work experience. I believe my fellow villagers will win the battle against the epidemic. Come on! Taigu!
