In 2012, the tertiary industry of Weidong District completed an added value of 4.35 billion yuan, an increase of 13% over 2011, accounting for 42% of the GDP. The business service industry realized sales of 22.5 billion yuan, and the hotel, catering and entertainment industry realized a turnover of 410 million yuan. Foreign trade exports amounted to 55.99 million U.S. dollars, and the actual utilization of foreign direct investment amounted to 9.24 million U.S. dollars.

In 2013, Weidong District realized foreign trade exports and imports of 92.35 million U.S. dollars, the actual utilization of foreign direct investment of 17 million U.S. dollars, respectively, to complete the municipal target of 145.5% and 141.7%.
