Morning tea culture has long crossed the ocean with Fujian and Guangdong people. Foreigners call Cantonese-style refreshments dim sum, and the phonetic symbols are the same as Cantonese-style cakes. Morning tea, also called cloud tea, is no different from the Cantonese version of tea drinking. Obviously, foreigners have also integrated into the morning tea culture.
The enthusiasm of foreigners for morning tea is not worse than that of Guangzhou locals. Everyone wants to wait in line for the freshly steamed barbecued pork buns and shrimp dumplings. They are willing to spend half a day sitting in a restaurant and regard morning tea as a fashion trend. But in contrast, our good friends in the north are not used to morning tea, and there are few morning Hong Kong-style restaurants in the north.
First, the taste difference between North and South.
Many southerners go to the south, and the biggest reaction after tasting the smaller south is that it is too sweet. From the taste point of view, people in Northeast China like to eat salty and fresh food, with heavy ingredients and seasonings, while Cantonese dim sum tastes light, which makes good friends in the northern region uncomfortable.
Especially pork ribs, chicken feet, money belly and barbecued pork buns, the northeast people always go to cook the meat in the direction of soup, which is salty and slightly heavy, and mainly full. In the morning tea of Guangzhou people, this kind of food is mainly sweet and salty, and the tea with it is considered as the first-class product.
Second, the difference between drinking tea in the north and the south
Although the whole country is a strong tea country, people in different regions have very different tastes in drinking tea. Northeast people like to drink Biluochun, which is a fragrant wine with low alcohol content. Green tea and jasmine tea are very popular. People in Fujian and Guangdong like to drink relatively high-precision teas, such as green tea and oolong tea, mainly Fenghuang Danzong and Pu 'er tea, which can improve the taste.
Third, the price of morning tea is relatively high.
In Guangzhou, people who are not worried about food and clothing will drink morning tea. The local young people joked that the people waiting for the opening of the morning tea restaurant were all tourists except the retired old people. They are anxious to go to work. Young people buy a rice rolls in Guangdong from the street, and after eating it, they plunge into work.
But in the northeast, morning tea not only takes time, but also costs too much. There are only four shrimp dumplings in a steamer, and the price tag is more than ten yuan, a plate of crispy chicken feet is nearly twenty yuan, and a morning tea is hundreds and eighty yuan, which is too low for the northeast people.
In addition, people in the north generally eat much more than people in the south. If you want to eat enough, you need more snacks and more money. No wonder some people say that morning tea shops are the world of retirees, so don't worry about time, energy and money. In short, they don't have to work in a hurry, and they also have retirement pensions.
Fourth, the old people have different cultural and artistic habits.
Old people who drink morning tea use restaurants as their social places. They come here to read newspapers, chat, talk about the past and the present, have some tea and eat some snacks. After half a day, they can afford it. However, the old people in the north have no such habit. We prefer outdoor as a place to chat, perhaps on the street or in the ecological park.
Therefore, morning tea in Guangzhou can't be sold in the north. I firmly believe that some people have thought about moving Chenguang Hong Kong-style restaurant to the north, but the occupancy rate is not as good as that in the south. Therefore, some morning tea brands open new stores, and the precise positioning is basically in the south. But the most popular time of these morning tea shops is not in the morning, but often after work, young people can come to trade.
