What three new trademarks did Tesla apply for in the catering industry?
According to foreign media reports, Tesla applied for a new trademark of restaurant service for its brand in the United States, and the automaker is expected to expand facilities around the charging infrastructure, including physical restaurants. Among the three new trademarks, one is the word "Tesla" itself, the other is its "T" logo (bottom left of the figure below), and the last one is its stylization of the word "Tesla".

The US Patent and Trademark Office said that it has accepted Tesla's application (which has met the minimum filing requirements), but has not appointed an examiner. At present, the application is awaiting review.

Tesla enters the catering industry

Tesla wants to enter the catering industry, at least on 20 17. At that time, Straubel, then Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Tesla, said at a conference that Tesla might enter the catering industry. The original intention of this idea is to turn the electric vehicle charging station into a full-service convenience store, while providing food.

In 20 18, Musk said on Twitter that Tesla planned to open an "old drive-in cinema, roller skates and rock restaurant" at a new Tesla super charging station in Los Angeles. A few months later, Tesla applied for a building permit to build a "restaurant and super charging station" in Santa Monica, California. But after that, the project was put on hold for about three years until Tesla submitted a new construction application earlier this year.
