Xiwangzhuang Village belongs to the administrative village under the jurisdiction of Xiwangzhuang Town, located in the north of the town, 0.8 km away from Miyun County10. The whole village 1 135 households with 3,305 people, with a total area of 8.9 square kilometers. The village lies in front of the mountain on the east bank of the Baihe River. The village was square and harmonious, and it became a village in the Tang Dynasty.

The Origin of the Name of Xiwengzhuang Village
Xiwengzhuang Village was originally named "Shiwengzhuang", which later evolved into its present name. According to local villagers, there is also a fairy tale about the origin of Shiwengzhuang.
Legend has it that there is a small village on the east bank of Baihe River. There is an old fisherman in the village who lives by fishing with his wife and only daughter. One day, the old fisherman punted his boat to go fishing. Suddenly, there was lightning and thunder, and the wind blew suddenly. With the roar of thunder, heavy rain fell from the sky like a whip, making people's eyes hard to open. The old fisherman wanted to go home quickly, but the roaring wind overturned the boat. The old fisherman grabbed the boat in the water and was blown to the shore by the strong wind and fainted. The raging Baihe flood swept the whole village and swallowed up the villagers who had no time to dodge. When the old fisherman woke up and returned to the village, the whole village was in ruins. Looking at the village destroyed by the flood, he thought of his wife and daughter. The old fisherman stood on the mountain by the shore day and night, crying for his relatives who had left. Over time, the old fisherman gradually stopped moving and eventually became a stone Weng. Later, people from nearby villages moved here one after another and named the village "Shiwengzhuang". Over time, after the evolution of time, the village name became "Xi Weng Zhuang".
Although this is only a legend, there is indeed a strange stone on the hill to the right of Miyun Reservoir Dam, which looks like an old man and is called a stone man by local villagers.
Jin Chaoyang Martyrs Monument
In the south of Xiwangzhuang Village, on the lonely hill on the west side of Missi Highway, stands a monument-Jin Chaoyang Martyrs Monument. It was built in memory of Jin Chaoyang, a martyr who died heroically in the battle of Xiwengzhuang.
1in March, 948, during the second attack on the stronghold of the local armed "gang", because there was no heavy weapon for a long time, Jin Chaoyang volunteered to undertake the task of blasting the bunker in the stronghold. He covered the wooden table with a wet quilt to make an "earth tank", put it on his head and bravely rushed under the enemy bunker. Unfortunately, he was hit by an enemy Grenade and died heroically. After the battle, Jin Chaoyang was promoted to platoon leader and combat pacesetter by Yihua County detachment, and was recognized as China 0 party member according to his last wishes.
According to records, Jin Chaoyang, a native of Zhuangzi Village, Bulaotun Town, was born in a poor peasant family in 19 18. He worked as a short-term worker when he was a teenager, and then as a long-term worker. 1945 joined the eighth route army Fenglian-Mihe United county detachment, 1947 was incorporated into Yihua county detachment. He has made many meritorious deeds and won awards in the army, and has served as the monitor and deputy platoon leader of machine guns. In order to cherish the memory of the martyrs and educate future generations, in the spring of 1963, the Xiwangzhuang Brigade mobilized the youth of the whole village to set up a monument for the martyrs of Jin Chaoyang, engraved with eight characters: "Sacrifice for the country will last forever!" Jin Chaoyang's heroic deeds are widely celebrated in Xiwangzhuang area. Every year in Tomb-Sweeping Day and July 1st, the surrounding primary and middle school students and cadres and the masses will come here to visit the grave and remember this revolutionary martyr.
