Is Chinese food popular in Europe and America?
(The interior of my friend's Chinese restaurant in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, which sells only authentic Sichuan cuisine)

It just so happens that my best friend runs a Chinese restaurant in Romania, Eastern Europe, so I'm still qualified to answer this question.

Compared to the Internet's "Chinese food is so popular with foreigners" that was blown out of proportion some years ago, with the gradual increase in the number of people traveling abroad over the years, we all know that Chinese food is not that popular in foreign countries.

But lately it seems to be overkill to think that foreigners don't like Chinese food.

In fact, the data released by various commercial organizations prove that Chinese food (including improved Chinese food) is as popular as French and Japanese food worldwide, and that the world's three major food powerhouses are well known.

(Romanian waiter in his restaurant)

Of course, the vast majority of Chinese restaurants around the world serve Chinese food that has been modified to suit local tastes; it is true that authentic Chinese food, as we Chinese think of it, is not as popular with foreigners.

Foreigners in Europe and the United States are still used to deep-fried food, so Chinese restaurants in Europe and the United States, especially in the United States, are essentially no different from McDonald's, where almost everything is deep-fried, and dumplings and spring rolls are all deep-fried; and there are now more Mexicans than there are Chinese in American Chinese kitchens in the United States.

But that doesn't mean that "authentic Chinese food" isn't popular in foreign countries.

My brother-in-law went to Bucharest, the capital of Romania in Eastern Europe, many years ago to work as a Chinese chef, or Sichuan cook; in 2010 he opened his own restaurant in Bucharest, and now he has opened several branches in Romania.

(Waiter in his restaurant)

He has always made authentic Sichuan food in Romania, not improved at all, but Romanians just love it. When I went to Romania to visit him, I saw that his restaurant had a pretty good attendance, and that guests even had to wait for a table during non-weekday dinners.

You should know that the price of his restaurant is not low, four dishes and a soup, not counting drinks and tip almost need 15-20 euros, look not expensive, but you should know that the average wage in Romania is not more than 600 euros, to eat a dinner spend 20 euros is really quite a lot.

Of course, then again, the reason why Romanians like to eat Sichuan cuisine, or and Romanian eating habits have something to do with the 2009 China Youth Daily issued an article entitled "Romanian food and Chinese food is a little bit like"; said the Romanian people's eating habits and Romanian food and Chinese food is more similar to the high degree.

So, whether authentic Chinese food is popular among foreigners mainly depends on whether local people accept the taste of authentic Chinese food.

I have spent a lot of time in Slovakia, Europe, and I should have a say. There is a Chinese restaurant, a Japanese restaurant and a local restaurant in the city center mall of the city where I work. I basically go to support the Chinese restaurant on a daily basis. Occasionally, I also go to the Japanese restaurant and the local restaurant. But in terms of the popularity of Chinese food in this country, basically the local restaurant is a little bit more popular than the Chinese restaurant and the Japanese restaurant, but basically the business of all three is very good. I asked the owner of the Chinese restaurant and he said he has 2 other restaurants in the city that are doing well. The owner himself has immigrated here! I've seen the car he bought, it's the kind of Mercedes-Benz SUV that costs more than 1 million dollars in China, I don't remember what brand it is. I don't remember what brand it is. Anyway, he's doing well! From this point of view, we can also see that he has made a lot of money doing Chinese food here, which is a side reaction to the hot degree of Chinese food in foreign countries! However, I feel that the Chinese food here is not quite Chinese in the traditional sense of the word, basically are improved varieties, favoring the European style. There are no traditional Chinese dishes with all the colors, aromas and flavors. That said, if we were to formally make traditional Chinese dishes, we probably wouldn't be able to do it for so long. So basically, people who cook Chinese food abroad will more or less make some improvements according to the habits and preferences of the local people! Finally, I'd like to post a few pictures of Chinese fast food that I usually eat over here.

China, from ancient times is a country is a food, Chinese food is the most complex and diverse, like the United States, New Zealand, Australia and so on their things are more single, real-time on the number of Chinese restaurants in the United States is three times as many as McDonald's.

Most of the Chinese restaurants in the United States have a lot of food, but they have a lot of food, and they have a lot of food, and they have a lot of food.

Most Americans regularly order food, and Chinese food ranks second.

Popularity, I don't know about other places. In the United States Chinese food can only be described as one of the various types of cuisine. There are all kinds of cuisines, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Malay, Italian, Mexican, Salvadoran, Brazilian, Turkish, Russian, Greek, Pacific flavors ...... and so on. There are so many choices. I really don't see how Chinese food has much of an advantage over the others. Moreover, what we consider to be delicacies are not the same in the mouths of many foreigners. It's as if we love the local flavor of our hometown no matter how good the other cuisines are. Habits are hard to change. This is actually quite normal. It's just like the Chinese people in a certain region who are not used to or hate the flavors of other parts of China. It's just a difference in tastes and habits.

Chinese people want to be recognized by the world too much, and sometimes it's really a bit of a cover-up. Confident point, they love to eat on the line, foreigners love to eat or not love to eat casually.
