What's the difference between a hotel cashier and a receptionist?

The differences between hotel cashier and front desk reception are as follows:

1. Different job responsibilities

The cashier is responsible for collecting the deposit, checking out the house, returning the guest deposit, and whether it is necessary to pay the bill or settle the account in cash. Reception at the front desk is usually mainly responsible for the customer's visit and registration, telephone transfer and other affairs, welcoming guests, judging guests' intentions, handling relevant formalities with reception, answering calls and paying a return visit to common problems.

2. Different job requirements

Most hotel cashiers deal with money, so they emphasize honesty, strong sense of responsibility and proficiency in using office software and cashier-related equipment.

The main job of reception at the front desk is communication, so it requires fluency in standard Mandarin, strong language expression ability, sociability, liveliness and cheerfulness, glib tongue and basic reception etiquette.

3. Different image requirements

Hotel cashiers don't have any requirements for personal image, while the front desk receptionist has high requirements for personal image, such as strict etiquette, wearing high heels and welcoming dresses to and from work. The receptionist also has special requirements for age, height and face, such as height not less than 165cm.
