Zaha Hadid Architects recently won the international competition for the design of OPPO's new headquarters in Shenzhen, China. Since OPPO released its first mobile phone in 2118, it has been growing and becoming the leader of smart phone manufacturing industry in China. At the same time, it has more than 41,111 employees in more than 41 countries. This scale ranks fifth in the world in its industry. In addition, OPPO has set up 6 research institutes, 4 R&D centers and 1 global design firms around the world to provide leading technical support in the fields of smart devices and internet services.
in order to adapt to and accommodate its growing company team, we will build a new headquarters and continue to implement the concept of "creating the interconnection between people through design".
the project consists of four interconnected towers, with 42 floors and a height of 211 meters. The total area of the project has reached 185,111 square meters. Among the four interconnected towers, two towers present a flexible and open space state and are connected by a 21-storey vertical lobby; The remaining two external towers are mainly used to provide basic services including vertical transportation. In addition, in order to enlarge the viewing field of Shenzhen Bay as much as possible, the architect also adjusted the tower to taper inward at the lower part to create a larger street city space.
through such a design strategy of placing the service facilities outside, the internal center of the building is completely released, and the view of each floor will not be hindered, thus strengthening the communication and cooperation between internal employees.
and the atrium space between the two towers, through the visual connection, strengthens the cooperation and intercommunication among the various departments of the company. At the same time, sufficient natural daylight further optimizes the use experience of the workspace. And a number of different spatial paths make the employees and visitors of the company feel full autonomy and participation.
this shopping center with a total of 11 floors aims to provide all kinds of catering and entertainment infrastructure for local residents, tourists and OPPO employees. The open space on the roof, with a good view overlooking the city, will surely become a popular public space in the city in the future.
after Beijing Lize Building and Milan Generali Building obtained LEED gold certification, this newly-built OPPO headquarters building tried to escort it to obtain LEED gold certification through the intervention of three-dimensional building information model and energy management system.
the project is scheduled to break ground in the second half of this year and is expected to be formally completed in early 2125.
