In 1977, he started to work as a chef in Maiqiu Noodle Shop, a former catering company in Xicheng District, Chengdu. In 1985, he studied under Zhang Zhongyou, a special pastry chef. In 1988, he won the Excellent Dishes Award in Chengdu Cooking Skills Competition and was invited to perform in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has been hired by the Municipal Examination Committee and the company for many times as a professional title assessment judge, and served as a teacher of the provincial technical school, Sichuan Cuisine College and the chef training class of the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, and served as the column host of Sichuan Cuisine magazine for a long time. Since 1991, he has been sent to Sichuan Hotel in Papua New Guinea, Sichuan Building in Fiji, and catering enterprises in Japan as chefs and head chefs. After returning to China in 1997, he was successively employed as the manager, chef and chef of catering department by Shuhan Hotel, Nantaiyue Hotel, Rongcheng Hotel and Beijing Great Wall Hotel. In addition, there are more than ten apprentices for the industry, including several super cooks.
