Career planning of interior designers

background

On September 20 10, I studied computer application in hubei three gorges polytechnic Institute of Electronic Information, and originally wanted to change my major to English. Later, because I changed my major, I specially found our counselor. If I don't have a better advantage, I might as well stay in the class as the monitor. I entered the computer industry by mistake, and started my internship in 2065438+016543810. I mistakenly entered the interior design industry and got the professional qualification certification of interior design practitioners, so I started my career in a small design company! Looking back now, I feel that college life is a bit pitted!

Summarize the direction of professional courses during my college years:

1. Computer network maintenance: computer assembly and maintenance, computer network;

Second, office secretary: computer basic office, English;

Third, web design programming: C language, C#, database, web design, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Fireworks, Adobe Flash;;

Fourth, graphic design and printing: Adobe Illustrator CS5 and Adobe Photoshop CS5, three components;

V interior design: sketch, autoCAD, 3DS max;;

6. Film and television design: adobe.premiere.pro.cs4, Adobe After Effects CS4 (Adobe AECS 4).

develop

From 20 1 12 years 10 to the beginning of 20 14, I worked for one and a half years before I realized my career plan. I should think about it carefully, because in practice, I find that there are many things I can't do, and my passionate ideal is really vulnerable in the face of reality. I thought I could shape myself well, but I didn't find mine. I didn't think I could escape the robbery. 1 year, my own edges and corners began to round slowly, and I didn't speak so rashly, but I was more used to thinking! Now I should position myself as a draftsman, because I studied understanding software at school and the exam is also the theoretical basis, so I will really encounter many problems in my work! Without the support of design concept and construction technology, my own drawings are always not very good, which makes me fall into the predicament of life. Because the working ability is not good, the salary can not be raised, the personality charm can not be built, and the whole career development has been hindered, so we can only change according to the environment and our own ability!

My understanding of interior design industry

market quotation

In 20 13, there were more than 200,000 interior design professionals in China, and the number is still increasing. According to industry insiders, the income of professional interior designers generally takes the form of basic salary plus commission. The commission of design fee is generally between 2%- 10% of the whole decoration project cost, and the basic income is generally not too high, and the basic salary is about 1500-4500. Take Kunming as an example. The annual salary of a truly capable designer is about 200,000-300,000 yuan, and the annual income of more important roles such as design director and project design director can reach several hundred thousand yuan or more. Interior designers are very popular in the market because of the large market demand, and have always been called "golden gray collar".

Have knowledge

A mature interior designer must have the qualities of an artist, the rigorous thinking of an engineer, the rich experience and life experience of travelers, the business philosophy of operators and the cost consciousness of financial experts. A senior designer said that design is thought, and design is the comprehensive embodiment of designer's professional knowledge, life experience, cultural and artistic accomplishment and moral quality. Only when the inner cultivation is improved can we make works, fine products, top grades and magical products, otherwise it will only be in the primary imitation stage and become mediocre. A designer with low moral quality and artistic morality will not have a high level of design taste. Therefore, interior designers should master: basic art theory, interior plan drawing, interior effect drawing, post-processing of effect drawing, decoration budget, decoration materials, practical tools, architectural feng shui and so on.

Understand the workflow of indoor renderings, understand the layout of commonly used menus and commands, and lay the foundation for later study. Can be used for interior decoration, such as lights, chairs, tables, beds, windows and so on. Understand the use and various parameters of Vray renderer, master the skills of lighting with Vray, and create a more realistic picture effect. Render a realistic effect close to reality with Vray. Master the skills of color correction and special effects production in Photoshop, and use the related functions of Photoshop for post-synthesis skills. Ps: 1) Comprehensive training for large indoor events. 2) Experience exchange of indoor renderings.

basic requirement

1 professional knowledge-interior designers must know what effects various designs will bring, such as mechanical effects of different shapes, practical effects, ergonomics involved, costs, processing methods and so on. This knowledge can never be mastered in one day, but also integrated and comprehensively applied.

Creativity-rich imagination, innovative ability and foresight are essential, which is a big difference between interior designers and engineers. Engineering design adopts calculation method or analogy method, and the nature of work is mainly improvement, perfection rather than innovation; Modeling design attaches great importance to originality and originality. Design elements are endless lines and surfaces, not rigorous and tedious data. Analogical modeling design can't be excellent.

3 artistic skills-in short, it is the level of painting, and further, it is the level of aesthetics and aesthetics. To be sure, there is no interior designer who can't draw, and it goes without saying that "drawing is the language of designers". Although there are other ways to express design (such as computers), pen and paper painting is still the simplest, direct and quick method. In fact, although ideas can be expressed more comprehensively through computers and models, most of the most important imagination and deliberation processes are carried out through simple paper and pencil.

4. Design skills-including the manual production of sludge model and the application ability of computer design software. Of course, these skills need professional training, and there is no natural craftsman, but strong hands-on ability is a must.

5 work skills-that is, coordination and communication skills. This involves the category of management, but because design plays a decisive guiding role in the whole product image, technology and production, good coordination and communication can ensure the efficiency and effect of design. This is an additional requirement for modern interior designers.

6 market awareness-production (cost) and market (customer's taste, cultural background, environmental climate, etc. ) must be considered in the design. Designs that are out of the market can't be sold, and so can interior designers.

7 Responsibilities-Designers should know as much as possible about customers' occupations, preferences, functions required by owners and styles pursued through negotiations with customers and on-site investigation.

operating duty

Interior designers fall into two categories.

One is a pure designer, that is, a person who only makes money by designing. The other is the majority of marketing designers in the industry. Rather than designers, such designers are product promoters. Let's talk about the difference between the two types of designers' work. Only by explaining two different types of jobs of interior designers can we explain how much they get paid every month.

The first kind of designers usually work in that kind of design company. Their basic salary is relatively high, and some can even reach about 4000 ~ 5000 a month. Of course, the premise still depends on the benefits of their company. In their company, they often contact high-end customers. The only difference between them and other decoration companies is that they don't work. Just do pure design. However, there is a design fee for each project, which is divided between the designer and the company. If it is in first-tier cities such as Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou, the monthly income of this type of designer should be: 4000 (basic salary)+commission (depending on your performance)+design fee = monthly income. Here I just use figures to represent the basic salary. Because commissions and design fees can only be generated if you have customers. Without customers, I can only get 4000 yuan. Some companies will still have tasks, and these tasks are linked to the basic salary. If you don't finish the task, your basic salary should be only 40%. So as this type of designer, you must have a deep foundation and design ability. Otherwise, you want to earn tens of thousands a month. It's basically difficult. It's just that we can only take first-tier cities as an example now. The basic salary of second-tier cities should be around 2500 ~ 4000. Everything else is the same, it is also the basic salary plus commission plus design fee. As such designers, they are generally experienced designers who have been in the business for a long time. Their design fees are often higher. The design fee of Gao Wenan, a famous Hong Kong designer, has reached 1.6 million/square. Master designers are still rare in China. Generally, the design fee of first-tier cities is between 150~300. There are also advanced ones, but they are still a few. From this, we can give an example. If A completes the task in one month, he will be charged a design fee of 150 m2, and his design fee is 150/ m2. Then his salary should be: 4000+(150 *150/2) =19000 yuan. Of course, this is only available if you receive a design fee of 150 square.

The second type of designers are the majority in the industry today. Their company generally undertakes design and construction. These companies have a strong marketing concept, because their interest orientation is to take over projects and get management profits from them. Therefore, such companies generally do not charge corresponding design fees, and the income of the designer is directly related to the cost of the contract he signed. As a designer in such a company, the basic salary is generally around 1500~2500. Here, the basic salary is linked to the amount of tasks. Suppose the designer's monthly task is 300,000 (project cost). Then his salary after completing the task should be: 1500+[ commission (300,000 * 0.3/2)] = 6,000 yuan. Of course, this is when the task is completed. The reason why the commission was split in two just now is that the commission is divided into two parts, one after the project starts. The other time is after the project is completed. This is to ensure that designers often go to the construction site during the construction process and ensure that the construction conforms to the design. Because of the lack of income from design fees, the salaries of these designers are different from those of first-class designers. However, this does not mean that their income is less than that of the first type designers, because they can also earn extra money. That is the unspoken rule in the industry-kickbacks. Some designers may get higher salary and commission just by taking kickbacks. Therefore, as long as such designers work more, they will earn more. If there are fewer projects in that month, their income will be reduced accordingly. Suppose the designer doesn't have a list every month, then he is in danger of losing his basic salary. If he doesn't sign the bill next month, he will be in danger of not being fired. Therefore, they will try their best to sign the bill, but their service will be greatly discounted. How can the home be decorated without the special services of designers? Therefore, this is also one of the reasons why the complaint rate of the decoration industry has always ranked first.

Finally, I will list the above statistics with you, which will be more detailed.

The first type of designer: the basic salary is 4000 yuan.

Commission: 0.2% of the project design fee.

Design fee: 50% of the total project design fee.

Generally, designers in first-tier cities should earn about 20 thousand a month if they have the strength and high design fees.

The second type of designer: the basic salary is 2000 yuan (80% of the full salary is not completed when the task is completed).

Commission: 0.3%~0.5% of the total project cost.

Design fee: same as above (if the customer agrees and is willing to pay)

Rebate: This income cannot be estimated. You can take more or less, depending on the designer's conscience

Generally, in first-tier cities, such designers sign orders for about 300,000 yuan a month, and if they get kickbacks every month, their income should be about 20,000 to 30,000 yuan.

This is only my preliminary statistics and the best statistics. Some designers may only get 2000 a month. Because this business mainly depends on their own strength, how much you want to take is up to you.

abstract

Engaged in the interior design industry, we students who have just entered the society can do well in construction drawings and renderings and speak with pictures, but this is only the early stage. If we want to develop and survive in this industry, we must understand the budget, technology and negotiation list, and learn to support ourselves first, so as to improve ourselves better! My ability now is only in the drawing stage, and the renderings are not true. It's really developing slowly. Compared with other students, engaged in catering service and sales industry, how do I support my family and myself now is a problem! In short, we should constantly improve ourselves and think more about problems!
