According to the use of goods and services, consumption expenditure can be divided into eight categories: food, clothing, household equipment and services, medical care, transportation and communication, entertainment, education and cultural services, housing, and miscellaneous goods and services.
Per capita consumption expenditure is the main body of social consumption demand, a direct factor to stimulate economic growth, and an important indicator to reflect the living standards and quality of residents.
Current statistics are divided into two indicators: per capita consumption expenditure of urban residents and per capita consumption expenditure of rural residents. The per capita consumption expenditure of urban residents is counted on a monthly basis, while that of rural residents is counted on a quarterly basis.
