The Tang Dynasty (6 18-907) was a unified Central Plains dynasty after the Sui Dynasty, with a total of 2 1 emperor and enjoyed the country for 289 years. After Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty ascended the throne, he created a prosperous new century and reached the peak of the Tang Dynasty. At the end of Tianbao, the national population reached about 80 million. After the Anshi Rebellion, separatist regimes and eunuch dictatorship appeared one after another, and the national strength gradually declined.
After the Anshi Rebellion, the Tang Dynasty fell from its peak. There are three biggest political problems in the middle and late Tang dynasty: one is the separatist regime in the buffer region; Second, the party struggle is fierce; The third is the eunuch dictatorship. The eunuchs in the Tang Dynasty could even abolish the emperor, which was the most powerful eunuch group in ancient China.
The reason why the eunuchs in the Tang Dynasty were able to abolish the emperor was that the eunuchs in the Tang Dynasty were the only eunuchs in ancient China who controlled the central imperial army, and their natural power was so great that even the emperor could not contain it. So why did the eunuchs in the Tang Dynasty still control the imperial army after the Anshi Rebellion?
During the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, eunuchs were appointed to serve in the army, such as Gao Lishi and Yang Sixu. Especially in the later period of the reign, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty sent many eunuchs to serve as army supervisors. These eunuchs were so powerful that Gao Xianzhi and Feng Changqing died at the hands of eunuchs.
After the Anshi Rebellion broke out, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty transferred the Shence Army stationed in the northwest to counter the rebellion, while Yu Chaoen, the eunuch in charge of the Shence Army, gradually controlled the Shence Army by using the counter-insurgency war. Since then, Tang Daizong has fled Chang 'an several times due to mutiny. Thanks to the protection of the Shence Army, he was safe.
As a result, Tang Daizong paid a generous tribute to the Shence Army, and Yu Chaoen became a powerful eunuch in the Tang Dynasty, even Guo Ziyi and Li Guangbi were under his command. Although Tang Daizong later assassinated Yu Chaoen, Shence Army was still the commander of Yu Chaoen faction.
After Tang Dezong acceded to the throne, he tried to weaken the eunuch's control over the Shence Army, and appointed Sinong Shao Qingbai Zhizhen to lead the Shence Army. However, in the "Jingyuan Change" that broke out in 783, Tang Dezong, the emperor of the Tang Dynasty, was driven out of Chang 'an by the rebels.
After the "Change of Jingyuan", Tang Dezong no longer trusted the foreign minister. He not only returned the Shence Army to the eunuch commander-in-chief, but also promoted the Shence Army to the highest position and the most influential force in the imperial army. Tang Dezong also stipulated that the supreme commander of the imperial army must be a eunuch.
With the help of the imperial edict and the Ce Shen army, the imperial army in the center of the Tang Dynasty was basically controlled by eunuchs, and the troops loyal to the central government must also be supervised by eunuchs. So the eunuch clique almost controlled a large part of the army in the central part of the Tang Dynasty, and naturally it was possible to abolish the emperor.
