No annual fee for Rural Credit Union cards

The credit union savings card does not charge an annual fee or management fee, but if you have a balance SMS notification service (i.e., the bank will notify you via SMS on your cell phone when money is accessed or withdrawn), you will be charged $2 - $3 per month.

Minimum savings: usually $1, first deposit usually $10. Interest is paid.

Additionally: the savings card can be used to deposit both demand deposits and multiple time deposits at the same time.
