The highway runs through the "E-East Urban Agglomeration", starting from Zuo Ling, Wuhan, connecting with the left high-speed new bridge, intersecting with Wuhan Ring Expressway and Wuhan Third Ring Road in the west, connecting with Wuhan high-speed railway station, Huanle Avenue, Zhongbei Road and Second Ring Road, passing through gedian Economic Development Zone, Huarong District, Ezhou Economic Development Zone, Xishan Sub-district Office, Echeng District and Huahu Development Zone in the east, ending at Huahu Hub Interchange and connecting with Daguang Expressway and Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway Huang Wu. The total length is 54.75km, the design speed is 100km/h, there are 6 interchanges, 1 opposite service area, 1 opposite parking area, 1 monitoring management center, 1 maintenance work area, and 5 ramp toll stations, since September 2009.

Han-E Expressway is seamlessly connected with two national highways (106, 3 16), two provincial highways (239, 1 12), Hubei-Huang Yangtze River Bridge, Hubei-East Yangtze River Bridge and four expressway (Daguang, Shanghai-Chongqing, Yin Fu and Huang' e) in Ezhou. With the opening of the Han-E Expressway, the time from Wuhan to Ezhou, Huangshi and Huanggang has been shortened to 30-40 minutes.

Han-E expressway connects Ezhou, Huanggang, Huangshi and Wuhan in eastern Hubei, which provides a good environment for the opening and development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the construction of urban agglomerations in eastern Hubei and the development of tourism circles in eastern Hubei.
