Octopus is a fried batter ball, similar to Hush jiaozi, filled with small pieces of octopus, tempura, onion and pickled ginger. Octopus is golden brown. Eat it while it is hot. Be careful not to burn your tongue. Octopus burning is a standard for Japanese street snacks.
2. French pancakes
The Japanese like this French dessert, and they adapted it into a very popular street snack in Japan, especially near Harajuku, Tokyo. Pancakes are cone-shaped with sweet and salty fillings.
3. Roasted with salt (grilled fish)
This is probably one of the most unique Japanese street snacks, and it is also the most frightening. This is a whole grilled fish, stuck on a stick and seasoned with salt. It tastes like salt, lots and lots of salt.
4. jiaozi Dango
Wrap jiaozi in glutinous rice. Jiaozi is made of glutinous rice flour, which is similar to crispy rice. You can wait until they are ripe before eating until they are hard. In the street, I saw vendors selling three or four jiaozi with sweet soy sauce on them, which was very delicious. During the cherry blossom season, you will also see jiaozi among flowers, which is made of pink, white and green cherry blossoms.
5. Yu Hao Baked Okonomiyaki (Japanese Pancakes)
