Chinese Restaurant Week
Chinese Restaurant Week is a culinary event where you can enjoy fine dining at high-end restaurants at value prices. Held twice a year, each event has a quota limit and the number of seats in participating restaurants is also limited.
Fixed set menus of different price brackets are available during the event, starting at $78 to experience the city's big-name restaurants, popping Michelin, including Black Pearl.
There are only three things you need to remember about Restaurant Week:
1) It's a really good deal!
I've paid $100 for a 1 Michelin star restaurant (Fuchunju); and $200 for a 2 Michelin star restaurant (Yongfu Hui) . These are still expensive, with the cheapest starting at $78.
2) The participating restaurants are of exceptionally high quality!
Basically all the quality restaurants in the North, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hangzhou are here.
3)Grab it first! Otherwise some good restaurants will be snatched up in minutes.
Well, the prices are definitely limited. This event is held twice a year for 20+ days and each restaurant has its location limit. Some of the pop-up restaurants tend to book up in 5 seconds. It's not booked. Let's wait six months.
Participating cities have expanded to 12: Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Tianjin, Xi'an, Wuhan and Ningbo.

September 10, 12:00 a.m. Priority reservations for all American Express cardmembers (most alumni will make their reservations at this time)
September 15, 10:00 a.m. Online reservations begin for all users.
Dining hours, Sept. 17-Oct. 11 (perfect coverage for the Fourth of July). Most restaurants are available for the Fourth of July with no price increase at all.
American Express Advance Reservations
The most recent Restaurant Week partner is American Express. If you have an American Express card, you can make reservations in advance. If you're on American Express' top-end Centurion Black & Gold card, you can prioritize the first one.
When making your reservation, you'll need to determine the date and number of people for your meal.
Reservations don't require any payment in advance (some restaurants charge a deposit, but it's a small percentage), and they can be canceled at any time, so feel free to make a reservation with confidence.
But if something comes up at the last minute, it is recommended to cancel in advance rather than just stand up. Otherwise you'll be blackballed by Restaurant Week and won't be able to order next time.
I'm sorry I won't be able to attend such a great food event in the future.
I really suggest you must remember to cancel if you're not going. On the one hand, you give up your table to someone who needs it more, and on the other hand, you refuse to be wasteful (the restaurant prepares the food in advance).
About the menu explanation
There are four sets of restaurants in the week, the highest being Elite, and most of the restaurants are A or Elite.
Elite: Elite prices on the Elite menu are set by the restaurants themselves.
Class A set menu: $138 for lunch / $288 for dinner.
Category B set menu: lunch RMB 108 / dinner RMB 198.
Category C: 78 yuan for lunch/118 yuan for dinner.
Some small restaurants charge a service fee, while most do not. It is recommended that you focus on the A and Elite level set menus.
It's like a hotel discount promotion. The fancier the hotel, the more money it will save you.
Besides the package level, you also have to look at the restaurant's cuisine.
The menu for this Restaurant Week includes Western (Western), Chinese (Chinese), Japanese (Japanese), hot pot (hot pot), Thai (Thai), German (German), Italian (Italian), French (French), steakhouse (steakhouse), Cantonese (Cantonese).

Hangzhou
Hangzhou Junyue Bar, dinner198.com
That's right. The first bar in Hangzhou is recommended. Yue's bar is really beautiful for his wife, plus the price of 198 per person (snacks, a bottle of champagne). It's simply a shame you don't go.
Of course it is labeled dinner, but we recommend you go after dinner. The nature of the place is still the bar. There will be a Cuban band singing in the evening.
Junyue Bar If it is the highest value bar in Hangzhou, it is estimated that only Murphy's Butterfly at Kempinski can have a fight.

This is the most popular set menu sold by the restaurant in the first half of the year. The previous price was 138 for lunch and 288 for dinner. the second half of the year saw a price increase, but the menu was upgraded.
The West Lake restaurant has a beautiful view. After all, it is the restaurant of the four seasons of West Lake, or also the West Lake scenic spot.

Conrad Hotel, Grand Mission Hangzhou, 13815% for lunch
The newly remodeled Conrad's Restaurant, which is a newly converted all-day dining restaurant, has just opened a month ago and is doing extremely well. The restaurant is on the 27th floor and has a great view from the windows overlooking the Qiantang River and Qianjiang New City.
Play Blue Restaurant's creative Hangzhou cuisine and Ryan upstairs (because Ryan is expensive). Usually around 200-300 for the average person, more of a staple value for money.
Week's menu basically covers the signature dishes, from the very Taizhou-style homemade baby yellowtail to creative dishes like truffle crispy pork and sea urchin and eight-treasure tofu. The dishes are plentiful and the flavors aren't amazing, but they're passable.
Any restaurant in Qianjiang New City will take more than a hundred people for dinner, and Yulan is still in a setting like Conrad's, perfect for treating friends to dinner.
Hangzhou Grand Hyatt Hotel Lunch138.com
This restaurant is in a good location (near West Lake). Also the product is good. After all, it is a Grand Hyatt owned restaurant.
This restaurant week is good value for money and also a three-course lunch (exactly two sets pictured below).
The Green Club is a restaurant worth grabbing, and it's even arguably one of the best bang-for-the-buck restaurants of the week.

It's a social restaurant. There are two Wenxing Restaurant locations this time, Hangzhou Public House and Ping An Financial Center.
When you want to eat Guangzhou morning tea snacks and Cantonese food in Hangzhou, Wenxing Restaurant is your brother.
Among the weekly restaurant meals, the Wenxing roast duck is the most unmissable. The dish is available on the 138-seat lunch menu and the 288-seat dinner menu. Typically, the unit price is $98.
So Wenxing has an awesome menu this time around. It's worth getting your hands on.

This restaurant is participating in Restaurant Week for the first time this year. It's worth checking out! The menu is a great deal.
This is a new Japanese restaurant with an open theme. It's located in a new building in Xixi, but the tatami-mat layout trumps creativity and immersion.
The 38-person prix fixe menu includes appetizers, sashimi, crab tempura with shiso and pine leaves, braised beef tongue in red wine, seafood and matsutake soup, unagi hand/udon noodle, and dessert for one. And you can choose from New Zealand prawns and live sea urchin for the sashimi. You've given it a taste, and the freshness and texture are great.
Dinner 288 is buffet style so there are more dishes to choose from. And you can go back to the basics with the crab and sashimi, which is pretty good in appearance and quality.
Another highlight of this restaurant is that all dining guests can try on kimonos for free, so there are often people in kimonos dining and taking photos of the restaurant. It's quite fun and the list is well worth it.
Peony Room, Xi Hotel Hangzhou, 138.15 off lunch and 288.15 off dinner.
After all, it's where the state banquet was held during the G20. There's no more ceremonial way to eat Hangzhou cuisine than at the Xi Zi Hotel.
The fall restaurant week menu is not as classic as the spring one, with two set menus to choose from for the afternoon/evening market, such as freshwater fish with scallion oil, river prawns, and katakawa. It's also an authentic Gangnam approach.

In fact, Hangzhou has a lot of recommended restaurants to eat. For example, Qinglan, the Lake Lounge in Fuchun Mountain, and the Steamed Vegetable Restaurant in Fayunan are all highly recommended.
Shanghai
In fact, every restaurant week, the best restaurant is Shanghai, no exception!
This is the basis of Shanghai Restaurant Week, with hundreds of businesses participating.
HIYA, Shanghai Addison, 228 RMB for lunch and 388 RMB for dinner.
Japan is Addison's Japanese restaurant, located on the hotel's 27th floor. Other than that, the location is taken. The restaurant is just downstairs from BerryBros.Rudd's ROOFandPunchBar, with panoramic views of Lujiazui.
The restaurant's weekly menu is RMB 228 for lunch, which includes an appetizer, main course and dessert. You can choose one of three courses, and there's also a vegetarian menu.
Yellow catfish with Japanese-style fried pork cutlet and rice with lime, honey and pineapple slices, paired with a night view of Lujiazui, make for a pleasant weekday dinner.
Intercontinental Xinyuan, dinner RMB 288
Ruijin belongs to the garden-villa hotels tucked away in the downtown area, and its Chinese restaurant, Xinyuanlou, has its own separate century-old villa. If you want to experience the old Shanghai style, this is really a good choice. Xinyuanlou is participating in Restaurant Week for the first time, so the menu given is also very sincere.
The $88 dinner set menu consists of eight courses, mostly fusion dishes based on local flavors. Entrées that could have been served include chicken fillet with black truffle and wine-flavored steamed anchovies. The prices aren't bad. All dishes are served in separate meals, which also suits most dining scenarios.

Three words, superb value for money! Highly recommended starting with the evening set menu pictured below at 288. superb value for money with abalone braised pork, prawns and matsutake mushrooms. These three dishes alone, plus the menu price, are already over $400, not to mention the other dishes.
It's Yuan Yuan's high-end line, as you surely know. Many people regard Shanghai's No. 1 local dish as "Shanghai's No. 1 braised pork."
One of the dishes in this set menu is braised pork with abalone.
Staying together in the house, brunch is 188 net, lunch 138 net and dinner 288 net.
Together's organic brunch is a differentiator on the Restaurant Week menu. A cup of coffee, a tuna tartare, a set of protein-packed Eggs Benedict, and a scoop of ice cream are enough to start a leisurely day off.

It's close to Xintiandi. As Shanghai's trendiest landmark, Xintiandi is so easy to visit. So it makes perfect sense to arrange your lunch or dinner here.
The evening set menu 28:00 has 8 courses. The overall flavor is Chinese with regional, Ningbo and Cantonese specialties as well as Western. After eating 8 courses, it felt like the taste buds were traveling in a foreign land.
When I ate the "Italian Sea Urchin Crispy Beef", my whole body lit up, the outside was crispy and the inside was tender, with the sweetness of beef. The sea urchin was layered on top of a fresh layer, and bursting at the seams when you cut into the crispy skin!

Some Tips for Restaurant Week

If you can't make a reservation at the last minute, always remember to cancel it, otherwise the restaurant may prepare more ingredients and cause unnecessary waste.
There is a price difference between the afternoon set menu and the evening set menu. The afternoon set menu tends to be more cost-effective and the evening set menu tends to be of better quality.
Look to see if the price includes a service charge. Some restaurants require an additional 10-16% service charge.
It's a set menu for one person. Some restaurants allow one person to eat without discriminating against singles. But there are a few restaurants that require two people to make a reservation.
Set your alarm for Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. (for American Express Centurion Black & Gold cardmembers) and remember to grab it as soon as you can. 12 p.m. for all American Express cardmembers. Every restaurant week, there's a rush. The so-called rush starts a few minutes early and you can swipe it before 12.
If you really don't grab it, see if you can grab it that day, because someone will cancel the reservation and release the spot.
