Songhuajiang ropeway is a complete set of equipment imported from the world-class ropeway equipment company-Austria Dopplmayr Company, which was built in 1997. It is one of the key projects in Harbin, the only sightseeing cableway across the river in Heilongjiang Province and one of the more advanced cableways in the world. The ropeway is designed as a fully enclosed single-cycle trailer. Before leaving the station, the ropeway car will pass through four sets of testing equipment to test the rope gripper, which has a very high safety factor. The National Inspection Center will issue the national passenger ropeway safety operation license every year. In 2009, it was acquired by Heilongjiang Yuexing Investment Co., Ltd. and started a four-year brand-new transformation and upgrading of the ropeway project. Songhuajiang cableway starts from Tongjiang Square in Daoli District in the south (No.2 18 Tongjiang Street), which is located on the beautiful Songhua River, crosses the Songhua River and reaches the central boundary of Sun Island Scenic Area in the north (No.218 Scenic Area). The total length of the ropeway is 1 156 meters, the tower is more than 70 meters away from the river, there are 19 luxury hanging boxes, the passenger flow per hour is 1500 person-times, and the maximum traveling speed can reach 5 meters per second, which is stable and fast.

The laying of Songhua River cableway is the first cableway across the river in Northeast China, which has become an important link for the prosperity of both sides of Songhua River, closely connecting Stalin Park, Flood Control Memorial Tower, Central Street and Sun Island in the center of the river, forming a unique landscape in Harbin and becoming one of the important tourist attractions in Harbin.

The rebuilt Songhuajiang ropeway will become the only large-scale tourism and commercial complex in Heilongjiang Province that integrates tourism, entertainment, art exhibition, fashion catering and other complex functions, and will welcome visitors from all directions with a brand-new look. The diversified entertainment and leisure facilities in the castle will also become the characteristic landscape along the Songhua River business district. As a famous tourist attraction in Harbin, it has always been favored by photographers and film directors. Two European-style castles are located on both sides of the Songhua River, connecting the Bay River and the Tower Peak with cable cars. The unique Byzantine architectural style makes tourists shine and adds a lot of color to Harbin's tourism.
