The first is Dongpo meat. When Su Dongpo was relegated to Huangzhou, he wrote a famous ode to pork: clean pot, little water, firewood can't afford to smoke. Don't rush him when he is ripe, it looks good when the fire is full. Huangzhou good pork, the price is as cheap as dirt. Noble people refuse to eat, and poor people don't know how to cook. They got up early and cooked two bowls, and they were full, regardless of their husbands.
Moreover, when he was just demoted to Huangzhou, he saw a city surrounded by the Yangtze River on three sides, and thought that he could eat delicious river fish and delicious bamboo shoots, so he wrote "First Arriving in Huangzhou": he laughed at his busy life, but his old career became ridiculous. All over the Yangtze River, fish is beautiful, bamboo is good, mountain is fragrant. Not as good as a foreigner, the poet is an example of Shui Caolang. Unfortunately, it didn't help at all, and it was still a waste of time for the housekeeper to press the wine bag.
When Su Dongpo was demoted to Zhan County, Hainan Island, there was an old woman selling steamed dumplings. Business in the store has been bad. I heard about Sue's name and wanted to ask him to help me with the promotion. After eating her steamed dumplings, Brother Dongpo felt that the craft was good, so he wrote a poem "Cold Weapons": the jade color was rubbed evenly by hand, and the blue oil was shallow yellow and deep. Sleeping at night in spring knows the weight, crushing a beautiful woman and hugging gold.
Litchi is a famous one. "Two Lychee Eating Songs": It's four o'clock in spring in Luofu Mountain, and oranges and bayberry are all new. 300 lychees a day, I will grow up to be a Lingnan person without hesitation.
Su Dongpo was banished to Lingnan this time, so after observing the scenery, he became deeply fond of litchi.
One spring, Su Dongpo saw a painting by Hui Chong, a famous monk in the Northern Song Dynasty, and he improvised a small scene on the side of Huichong River based on this painting: peach blossoms are three liang outside the bamboo, and the duck prophet warms the river. The beach is covered with wormwood, asparagus is beginning to sprout, and puffer fish are preparing to swim upstream from the sea back to the river.
This was regarded as a guide to "eat puffer fish at the risk of death" by later generations. Actually, Brother Dongpo doesn't eat puffer fish.
When Su Dongpo took office in Fengxiang, Shaanxi Province, he encountered a drought that had not happened for many years. He led the people in drought relief. After the drought was relieved, he made mutton soup to share with everyone, and wrote: "Qin only cooks mutton soup with bear wax."
Oranges are produced in Dongting Mountain, Taihu Lake, and used as tributes in Tang and Song Dynasties. Su Dongpo wrote "Ode to an Orange in Huanxisha" for this reason: the chrysanthemum withered overnight. New shoots and green leaves shine on the forest. The thatched cottage on the bamboo fence is green and yellow. The fragrant fog is half broken, and the clear spring dare not taste it for the first time. Wu Ji's hand is still fragrant after three days.
In Brother Dongpo's poems, we only see open-mindedness, not frustration, and we also read from his poems the unremitting pursuit of a better life!
