GERD (Reflux Esophagopathy) refers to the reflux of gastroduodenal contents to esophagus. According to whether it causes esophageal mucosal erosion or ulcer, it can be divided into reflux esophagitis (RE) and non-erosive reflux disease (NERD). Typical symptoms are heartburn and acid reflux, which often appear after meals 1 hour, and can be aggravated when lying down, bending over or abdominal pressure increases. Some patients will have heartburn and gastric acid reflux when they fall asleep at night. Other symptoms include chest pain, cough, asthma, chronic pharyngitis and dysphagia.
Food and Reflux Esophagopathy
Under normal circumstances, the food we eat will enter the stomach through the mouth-pharynx-esophagus, and no reflux will occur. The important reason is the function of lower esophageal sphincter. However, some foods, such as high fat and chocolate, can cause dysfunction or temporary stretching and relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter. In addition, some irritating foods, such as alcohol and onions, will destroy the esophageal mucosal barrier, and then cause reflux to damage the esophageal wall.
Anti-reflux esophageal disease food
chicken breast
As a regular food in the diet, chicken breast is favored by everyone because of its low fat and rich protein, and it is easy to digest, so it is also a good food against reflux esophagitis.
water
It's really good to drink water in a thermos in cold winter. For patients with reflux esophagitis, water is the best drink. Because sugary drinks, alcoholic drinks and acidic juice can stimulate the occurrence of reflux esophagitis; However, carbonated drinks not only contain sugar, but also produce gas, prompting patients to burp and inducing or aggravating reflux esophagopathy.
energy
It is pungent in taste, slightly warm in nature, and has the effects of sweating, relieving exterior syndrome and stopping vomiting by warming. Drinking a cup of hot ginger tea or eating some ginger candy can calm "restlessness" and reduce esophageal reflux.
watermelon
Watermelon, melon, etc. They are all foods with low acid content and will not cause irritation to the gastrointestinal tract, so it will help reduce esophageal reflux. Of course, diabetics should pay attention to their sugar content when eating.
unpolished rice
Brown rice is a kind of rice produced by rice processing. After rice hulling, some outer tissues, such as cortex, aleurone layer and germ, remain. The above-mentioned external tissues are rich in nutrition, and vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber are richer than white rice. Compared with white rice, cakes, biscuits and some sugary drinks, brown rice takes longer to digest, thus helping to reduce the occurrence of reflux esophagitis.
rolled oats
Oatmeal is a better choice than bacon, sausage, pancakes, doughnuts and greasy potato cakes. It contains a lot of fiber, which can enhance satiety and keep you energetic for hours. However, we should pay attention to adding as little or no cream, sugar, syrup and dried fruits as possible, and replace them with fresh fruits.
Some root foods
Some root foods, such as potatoes, carrots, radishes and celery, are rich in healthy complex carbohydrates and digestive fibers. But be careful not to add onions or garlic when cooking, because onions and garlic can induce gastric acid reflux.
olive oil
As one of the three nutrients, lipid plays an important role in the body, but foods with high fat content will aggravate the symptoms of reflux esophagitis. Therefore, you can choose healthier cooking oil, such as olive oil, which will reduce the occurrence of reflux esophagitis.
