In the early days of the founding of New China, Qingshizui Town was a desolate village belonging to Fengju Township, the fourth administrative region of Menyuan County. After 1958, Zhang Ning and Menqing highways pass through the countryside in a T-shape, becoming the transportation hub connecting Hexi Corridor and Wo He area in Menyuan County. With the development of Qilian Mountain copper mine and Tiemai coal mine and the continuous expansion of Menyuan Racecourse and Giants Farm, it had the scale of a market town in the early 1960s, and gradually formed another industrial, agricultural, commercial, catering service and cultural and educational center in Menyuan County. 1984 was designated as the second county-level township. In 2002, the administrative division was adjusted, and Datan Township was abolished and merged into Qingshizui Town. It has jurisdiction over 6 villagers' committees, including Hongshanzui, Hongyahe, Heishitou, Shanghanggou, Xiadiaogou, Deqing Ying, Shitougou, Zadatan, Shangtiemai, Dongtiemai, Xitiemai, Shangdatan, Xiadatan, Baitugou and Honggou/kloc-0. By the end of 2007, there were 6,965 households with 30,698 people. The town is inhabited by Hui people with a population of more than 20,000. There are 3,406 hectares of cultivated land and 2,844,970 mu of grassland. There are 78,656 animals of all kinds (one horse), including 20 157 large animals (one horse) and 55,887 sheep and goats.

There are 1 middle schools and 1 1 primary schools in the town, and there are hospitals, veterinary stations, agricultural machinery management stations, supply and marketing cooperatives and other units.

Qingshizui Town is rich in tourism resources and mineral resources, belonging to the national AAAA-level tourist attractions, with unique folk customs. In recent years, tourism is becoming a new sunrise industry.
