[Restaurant Review] Pamir (Pamir Xinjiang Restaurant)

Three months after Pamir moved from a new store in Taiwan County to the busy Taida area, this restaurant won a steady stream of customers with its homely xinjiang cuisine and affordable price. Pamir is run by a couple who learned cooking skills during their stay in Urumqi. Pamir has a feeling of home, and its customers are mainly students and families.

The menu is roughly divided into rice, noodles and bread, as well as various beef, chicken and mutton, as well as soup and dessert.

A popular staple food in Xinjiang is Rounang (NTD 100 yuan, meat bag). It tastes like Thai onion cake, but it is seasoned with diced mutton instead of onion oil. Meat South Cake (NTD 150 yuan) is the reverse distribution of meat South Cake, and the still fried beef is covered on the sliced South Cake.

As the name implies, sauteed chicken (fried chicken in 350 yuan, NT) is filled with green pepper, onion, potato, carrot and chicken, and there are a lot of dried peppers and peppers, which give this dish a delicious spicy taste. The attached handmade noodles are very delicious. This sauce is also a delicious dipping sauce for sesame nan (NT$ 50, sesame bag).

Another staple food in Xinjiang, mutton kebabs (NT$ 100 yuan), was the biggest disappointment when I went to Pamirs recently. The crispy cumin-flavored barbecue that people expected sizzled from the charcoal fire, with little taste, and it was tepid when served.

According to Muslim tradition, Tasmi (like honey, 200 yuan, NT), a sweet and sour mutton dish seasoned with sugar, thick sweet sauce, ginger and soy sauce, is a dish with an interesting story behind it. According to folklore, Tasmi was named after Empress Dowager Cixi because of her honey. However, this famous Muslim dish transplanted from Xinjiang to Taiwan Province and served on the Pamirs is not so sweet as acetic acid.

Clear mutton soup (NT$ 70 yuan per person) provides another novel dining experience, including sucking bone marrow through a straw.

When the cheap restaurant is full, Pamir's service may be slow, but the rich and inexpensive meals it provides are definitely worth waiting for, making the restaurant an excellent choice for friends to get together for leisure.
