Dendrobium soup: Dendrobium 10g, decocted in water for 30 minutes, and the juice is taken twice a day. Indications: dry mouth and tongue caused by fever, cough caused by lung dryness, and soreness of waist and knees caused by kidney deficiency.

Yangwei decoction: Dendrobium 15g, Gypsum 12g, Radix Adenophorae Polygonatum 12g, Trichosanthes root 9g, Chinese yam 9g, Poria 9g, Ophiopogon japonicus 6g, Pinellia tuber 4g, Platycladus orientalis 3g and sugarcane 30g. Put it in a casserole, add water and decoct for 30 minutes, and take the juice. Daily 1 dose, three times. Indications are dryness, heat and polydipsia.

Roasted elbow of Dendrobium: Dendrobium 10g, pork elbow 250g, monosodium glutamate and salt 2g each, soy sauce and cooking wine 5ml each, onion and ginger 5g each, and cooked. Eat with meals.

Dendrobium porridge: Dendrobium 10g, 50g of japonica rice, boiled in water to make porridge. Eat it every morning and evening

The role of Dendrobium:

1. Fever impairs body fluid and stomach yin syndrome. This product is good at nourishing stomach yin, promoting fluid production to quench thirst, and clearing stomach heat. Indications are heat-induced fluid injury, polydipsia, black tongue coating, etc. It is often combined with Trichosanthis Radix, Radix Rehmanniae and Radix Ophiopogonis, such as the method of clearing heat and protecting body fluid in Treatise on Damp Diseases. It can be used with Sheng Di, Ophiopogon japonicus and Scutellaria baicalensis for treating epigastric pain, gingival swelling and pain, and sores on mouth and tongue due to stomach heat and yin deficiency.

2. Kidney yin deficiency syndrome. This product can nourish kidney yin and reduce deficiency fire, and is suitable for symptoms of kidney yin deficiency, such as dim eyes, flaccid bones and muscles, excessive fire due to yin deficiency, and bone steaming fatigue. For those with deficiency of kidney yin and blurred vision, it is often used with Lycium barbarum, Radix Rehmanniae Preparata and Semen Cuscutae, such as Dendrobium luminous pill. Deficiency of kidney yin and weakness of bones and muscles are often combined with herbs such as Rehmannia glutinosa, Cornus officinalis, Eucommia ulmoides Oliv. and Achyranthes bidentata for nourishing liver and kidney, strengthening tendons and bones. For those suffering from kidney deficiency and excessive bone steaming, it should be combined with herbs such as Radix Rehmanniae, Fructus Lycii, Cortex Phellodendri and Rhizoma picrorhizae for nourishing kidney yin and relieving deficiency heat.

Characteristics and applicable symptoms of Dendrobium, benefiting stomach, promoting fluid production, nourishing yin and clearing heat. Produce body fluid, nourish yin and clear heat. Used for yin injury, body fluid deficiency, dry mouth, polydipsia, retching, asthenic heat after illness, and blurred vision.
