Manufacture process of polyurethane, semi-polyurethane and polyvinyl chloride for synthetic leather
The PU, semi-PU and PVC processes of synthetic leather are as follows:

PVC is the initiator of vinyl chloride monomer in peroxides, azo compounds and so on. Or a polymer polymerized under the action of light and heat according to a free radical polymerization mechanism. Polyvinyl chloride can be prepared from ethylene, chlorine and catalyst by substitution reaction.

In the manufacturing process of PVC leather, plastic particles should be hot-melted and stirred into paste, then evenly coated on the T/C knitted fabric base fabric according to the specified thickness, and then foamed in a foaming furnace to make it have softness that can adapt to different product production and different requirements, and at the same time, surface treatment should be carried out.

Semi-PU: Synthetic leather is a good leather substitute. It is used to make leather jackets in winter, but it is made of TPU. TPU is very expensive, so many domestic manufacturers use PVC to partially replace it. They do this: first cover the fabric with PVC (artificial leather), and then cover it with TPU.

PU: In China, it is customary to call artificial leather made of PU resin, and artificial leather made of PU resin and non-woven fabric is synthetic leather.

Artificial leather is the earliest invented substitute for leather fabric. It is made of polyvinyl chloride, plasticizer and other additives by calendering and compounding on cloth. Its advantages are low price, rich colors and various patterns, but its disadvantage is that it is easy to harden and become brittle. PU synthetic leather is used to replace PVC artificial leather, and its price is higher than PVC artificial leather.

The manufacturing process of PU leather is more complicated than that of PVC leather. Because the base fabric of PU is canvas PU material with good tensile strength, it can be coated on the base fabric and wrapped in the middle, so that the existence of the base fabric can not be seen outside.

Extended data:

Main classification of PVC

According to the different application scope, PVC can be divided into: universal PVC resin, high polymerization degree PVC resin and crosslinked PVC resin.

According to the methods of obtaining vinyl chloride monomer, it can be divided into calcium carbide method, ethylene method and imported (EDC, VCM) monomer method.

According to the polymerization method, PVC can be divided into four categories: suspension PVC, emulsion PVC, bulk PVC and solution PVC. Suspension PVC is the largest variety, accounting for about 80% of the total PVC production.

According to the content of plasticizer, PVC plastics are often divided into: unplasticized PVC with plasticizer content of 0; Rigid PVC with plasticizer content less than 10%; Semi-rigid PVC with plasticizer content of 10-30% and soft PVCPVC paste with plasticizer content of 30-70% have plasticizer content above 80%.
