Hutong is a TV series directed by Fu Ning and starring Zhao Lusi, Cai Wenjing, Guan Xiaotong, Neo, Liu Huan and Lin Yi.

Tian Zao worked at the grassroots level from the early days of liberation, and later became a very popular director of the neighborhood Committee. She has served the people for 70 years, from taking part in catching spies and popularizing them to leading the masses to make handicrafts and donate money to resist US aggression and aid Korea, to helping educated youth and social people get laid off and re-employed during China's reform and opening up, and correctly guiding her daughter to her own class.

Tian Zao didn't leave his post until he was 90 years old. Her granddaughter became the director of the neighborhood Committee. She still goes out to help people solve their difficulties when they need her, and encourages old residents to tear down buildings and make room. In these trivial tasks, Tian Zao personally participated in the ideological education of the old neighborhood.

From the early days of liberation to the present, three generations of women in a family have joined community neighborhood committees. With the changes in the needs of the motherland, they also adjust their working methods anytime and anywhere to keep pace with the times, but their initial intention of serving the people wholeheartedly remains unchanged.

The first chapter of the story comes from 1950. Taking the community neighborhood committee as the prototype, Tian Zao (Zhao Lusi), an activist of party and government work, shoulders the burden of the first generation of neighborhood committee directors, and keeps pace with Gang Dan (Allen), a childhood friend, to achieve self-happiness and development on the premise of serving the people.

The second chapter is from 1980. The director of the neighborhood committee gave the baton to Sun () to play. She promoted the young people in the alley to become individual industrial and commercial households and bravely started businesses, and also used her wisdom to solve the difficulties for individual industrial and commercial households.

Lin Weidong (teacher Liu Huan) was originally an idle "alley hot pot string". Inspired by Sun, he regained his confidence in a better life and became a pioneer in running a night market street with great enthusiasm. The two were "not enemies but not together", which ignited the spark of love in the stumbling.

The third chapter comes from 20 19. Yue Lin (and Guan Xiaotong) promoted the supervision of community neighborhood committees to a new height, and together with Ouyang Hui (Lin Yi), a grass-roots worker in the prime of life, they nurtured a big city with their growth.

The original intention of Hutong is to take the mayor of the community committee as the core, showing that many grassroots cadres in party member, party member, have taken root in the front line, are anxious about the people's urgent needs, think about the people's wishes, and shoulder the powerful footsteps of serving the people, echoing the themes of the times such as grassroots workers leading the masses to "stand up", "get rich" and "get strong" under the leadership of the Party in daily life.

Generally speaking, Hutong describes the whole social reality of Hutong in various stages in Beijing in the form of words, according to the three relatively independent chapters, so that readers can better feel the great changes that have taken place.
