Every year, the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month is a "half moon", also called Mid-Autumn Festival. In some places, it is usually called "Ghost Festival" and "Stone Drum", also known as "Day of the Dead".
In southern Fujian, the 15th day of the seventh lunar month is a grand festival, which is as important as the ancestor worship day in Tomb-Sweeping Day. Early in the morning, people were busy preparing 24 kinds of big fish and meat and meals, and worshiped in front of their ancestral temple at noon.
There is a saying that people who go out to make a living on this day, no matter far or near, will go home to worship their ancestors. In addition to offering sacrifices, burning incense and worshipping, we must also burn paper clothes. In Putian, Nanping and other places, there was also the custom of burning clothes in the old days. Married daughters should choose offerings to pay homage to their families.

For Mid-Autumn Festival dinner in western Fujian, tables should be reserved and tableware placed, saying that the wandering souls of ancestors will go home to visit their children and grandchildren on this day and spend the holidays together. In Jianning and other places, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, every family hangs portraits of their ancestors as sacrifices.
