Chuzhou, referred to as "Chu" for short, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province. It is one of the 27 cities in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta, and an important wing of Wanjiang City Belt to undertake industrial transfer demonstration zone. Located at the junction of Jiangsu and Anhui, in the west of the Yangtze River Delta and in the east of Anhui Province. The city has jurisdiction over 2 municipal districts, 4 counties and 2 county-level cities, with a total area of 13398 square kilometers.
Chuzhou, born of the Chuhe River, has been a famous land of fish and rice on the north bank of the Yangtze River since ancient times. It is rich in rice, wheat, rape and so on. Its specialties are Chuju, Mingguang Mung Bean, Laian Huahong, Nanqiao Tea, Nvshan Lake Hairy Crab, Whitebait, Leiguan Salted Duck, and Tianchang Gorgon.

The main minerals are ferrous metals such as iron, titanium, manganese and barium, nonferrous metals such as copper, molybdenum and gold, and nonmetallic minerals such as silica, limestone, dolomite, refractory clay, molding sand, rock salt, glauberite, barite, potash feldspar, magnesite, gypsum, pumice, cast stone, attapulgite, glass quartzite and natural oil.
