White bark decoction of Aralia elata (1: 1) has inhibitory effect on gastrointestinal propulsion in mice, and its effect is enhanced with the increase of dose. Phentolamine and propranolol can block its inhibitory effect, so its effect may be related to the activity of α and β receptors of adrenergic nerve.
