In order to find people who meet the requirements, the production team found 1,400 qualified interviewers from 15,000 resumes from Chinese people around the world. After the director personally conducted 20 interviews and screenings, the selected people underwent a 24-week closed training. Among the 16 actors finally identified, 6 were able to play important roles.
The actor’s training program includes actor basics such as acting and film analysis, as well as the modern version of the Six Arts of the Gentleman: traditional culture (rituals, calligraphy, and mathematics), drumming (music), archery (shooting), and equestrianism (Royal), in addition, fitness courses such as fighting and body sculpting are also required.
