Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone, located in the southeast of Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, China, is located in Korla, the capital of Bazhou, with an overall planning area of 140 square kilometers. It was established on July 265, 2000 with the approval of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. In May 2002, the autonomous prefecture upgraded it to a county-level unit and implemented a state-based management system. In February 2008, it was upgraded to a provincial high-tech development zone; 20 11April 10 was upgraded to1(national economic and technological development zone).
