Wuhu is located in the downtown area of Wuhu, starting from Jingshan River in the east, the Yangtze River in the west, Zhanghe River in the south and Qingyi River in the north. The east of Wuhu City is the political, cultural and commercial center of Wuhu City, and it is also an important central city in Anhui Province and an important commercial and logistics center in the Yangtze River Basin.

Wuhu East New District is an urban area planned by Wuhu Municipal People's Government, adjacent to the old city of Wuhu, with a planned area of about 80 square kilometers and a planned area of about 42 square kilometers in the near future.
