Sihong is rich in products and superior in ecology. At present, there are 210.9 million mu of arable land, 0/0.66 million mu of water surface, 40% of the water surface of Hongze Lake under the jurisdiction of Sunrise Bucket, and 0/0.65 km of lakeshore, and 500,000 mu of tidal flat can be developed. It has a provincial Hongze Lake Wetland Nature Reserve and the largest Populus deltoides germplasm resource bank in Asia. It is the hometown of crabs in China, one of the top 100 aquatic products counties in China, an ecological demonstration county, a commodity grain base county and an advanced plain greening county. Shuanggou, Fenjinting and Shuangyang are three famous wines, and specialties such as Jinshui Hongze Lake hairy crabs and crab garden pollution-free rice sell well all over the country. There are quartz sand, diamond, ferromanganese ore, natural mineral water and other mineral resources underground.

Sihong County is located in the west bank of Hongze Lake and the lower reaches of Huaihe River. The water surface of the county is 1.66 million mu, of which the water surface of Hongze Lake is 1.654.38+0.00 million mu, accounting for about 40% of the water surface of the whole lake. Lake shoreline length1.65km. Aquatic resources are rich in advantages and have great development potential. As early as 1994, Sihong County was recognized as the "Top 100 Counties with National Aquatic Products Output", and 1995 was recognized as the "Crab Town of China" by the relevant state departments. In recent years, Sihong county party committee and government have given full play to their unique aquatic resources and geographical advantages, and put forward the strategic goal of developing aquaculture in the direction of standardization, modernization, high efficiency and leisure. Large-scale commercial crab culture technology, crayfish ecological culture technology, turtle fry factory culture technology and crab-covered mandarin fish culture technology have been popularized and implemented one after another. At present, ten demonstration bases have been formed: 1, a leisure fishery base with Mudun Island Tourism Resort and Hongze Lake Wetland Ecological Waterscape Garden as the core; 2. A demonstration base for standardized transformation of fish ponds based on Jinshui Group's breeding base; 3. Turtle breeding bases are mainly located in Bancheng and near Huaihe River; 4. Cage culture bases mainly in Shuanggou and Sihe rivers; 5. Hongze Lake net enclosure breeding base, mainly distributed in towns along the lake such as Bancheng and Linhuai; 6. Aquatic products processing and export base based on Suqian Nanjing Aquatic Products, Bancheng Hengrui and Linhuai Lvkang; 7, Jinshui Group, Linhuai-based large-scale high-quality crab breeding base; 8. The original variety bases of crayfish are mainly in Longji and Bancheng; 9. Seed breeding base mainly based on Jinshui Group Seed Breeding Center; 10, mainly in the Corbicula fluminea breeding base in the upper mouth of Longji and the outer mouth of Linhuai.
