1. In the north, it is more suitable to plant Chinese cabbage in ditches, because most parts of the north, such as Gansu, are mountainous slopes with little rain. Farmers usually plant Chinese cabbage in flat land or furrows. In order to conserve moisture and collect rain and ensure the water supply of Chinese cabbage, farmers plant Chinese cabbage in ditches when planting in a large area, which can not only conserve moisture, but also facilitate manual management.
2. In the south, Chinese cabbage is more suitable to be planted on the ridge of the field, because there are many flat depressions in the south, and it rains and floods after autumn. In order to prevent waterlogging, farmers usually plant Chinese cabbage on the ridge, which is convenient for drainage and waterlogging prevention and beneficial to the healthy growth of Chinese cabbage.
Specific planting method
① timely planting
As the saying goes, radish, clover and cabbage are generally planted by farmers in the middle of the year, with mid-August in the north and early August in the north as the best planting time. Choose loose and fertile sandy soil in advance, level the furrows and apply sufficient base fertilizer. Generally, about 4500 kilograms of organic fertilizer and 50 kilograms of compound fertilizer are applied per mu, and about 0.5 kilograms of seeds are used to turn the soil per mu.
② Site management
First, seedling management
When Chinese cabbage grows to 2- 13 true leaves after emergence, it should be thinned, weeded, weak and stiff in time to loosen excessive seedling space and make it grow rapidly. When the seedlings grow to 5- 16 true leaves, the seedlings should be fixed uniformly, with about 3500 straight-leaf Chinese cabbages and 2500 covered-leaf Chinese cabbages per mu.
B, fertilizer and water management
Chinese cabbage doesn't need much water. If the soil moisture is good, it is generally not watered in the early stage of seedlings. After the seedlings are fixed, they should be watered once in time to promote the healthy growth of roots. It is very important to control water properly in the late stage of rosette. At this time, if you water too much, it will cause the phenomenon that Chinese cabbage is not easy to bear white fruit. When Chinese cabbage bears fruit, the amount of fertilizer and water begins to increase. Should be timely watering topdressing, combined with watering, 20 kg of available ammonium sulfate per mu.
C, disease control
There are relatively few diseases in Chinese cabbage, mainly cabbage caterpillar and peach aphid at seedling stage. When the cabbage caterpillar grows to 2-3 real leaves, Chinese cabbage should be wrapped to prevent peach aphid and cabbage caterpillar about a week ago. I mainly use vinegar to prevent it, and spray it evenly according to the ratio of 1 kg vinegar and 400 kg water. If the control is timely and proper, the effective rate will reach more than 95%, and I rarely use it on Chinese cabbage for many years.
To sum up, in the field management of Chinese cabbage planting, we should choose different planting methods according to our own geographical conditions and climate characteristics, and combine scientific and reasonable comprehensive field management measures to ensure high yield and harvest of Chinese cabbage.
