What are the common woodworking tools? A complete collection of commonly used woodworking tools
Woodworking tools, as the name implies, are the tools needed for decorating carpentry, but they are certainly unknown to friends who have no experience in decorating. So what are the common woodworking tools? Below we will bring you a complete collection of commonly used woodworking tools, hoping to help you.

What are the common woodworking tools?

Woodworking tool is a tool to process wood into the required shape and size by cutting. Woodworking tools are hand-used and machine-used, and machine-used woodworking tools are used for batch and batch production. Woodworking tools for machine tools can be divided into five categories: saws, blades, milling cutters, drill bits and tenon hole processing tools.

Complete works of common woodworking tools:

1. Woodworking saw: There are many tools for sawing wood, such as circular saw, band saw, bar saw, chain saw, bucket saw, etc., among which circular saw and band saw are the most commonly used. When the kerf is parallel to the wood grain, it is called longitudinal cutting (sectioning), and when the kerf is perpendicular to the wood grain, it is called transverse cutting (truncation). The circular sawtooth shape adopted by the latter is different from that of the former, so as to cut the optical fiber during crosscutting (Figure 1).

2. Blade: a flat cutter with cutting edge, which is used for plane processing or cutting of wood. Blades with different parameters are installed on various machine tools and can be processed in different ways, such as planing, rotary cutting, scraping and shearing. Planing is used for plane machining, and the blade or workpiece generally moves in a straight line. Under certain conditions (such as reducing the cutting angle), veneer can be cut, and veneer is a high-quality decorative material. During rotary cutting, the wood rotates around the fixed center, and the blade moves continuously in a straight line to the center, and the wood is cut into strip veneers (veneers) to make plywood. In plywood production, shearing is used to cut veneer.

3. Woodworking milling cutter: a rotary cutter with one or more teeth. Through the relative motion between the workpiece and the milling cutter, the cutter gear flow cuts the redundant part of the workpiece intermittently. The installation and clamping methods of woodworking milling cutter are divided into two types: sleeve milling cutter with hole and milling cutter with handle. There are three kinds of milling cutter structures: integral, insert and combined. Milling cutters are widely used to process planes, molding surfaces, tenons, tenons, slots and carvings in joinery production. Compared with the milling cutter for cutting metal, the woodworking milling cutter has larger rake angle and rake angle, thus obtaining a sharp cutting edge and reducing cutting resistance. Another feature is that there are few cutting teeth and large chip space. In addition to tool steel and alloy steel, cemented carbide is also widely used in woodworking milling cutters to improve production efficiency and tool life.

4. Woodworking drill: Woodworking drill is a rod-shaped or spiral tool with cutting edge at the end, which is used to process through holes or blind holes. The difference between woodworking drill and woodworking end milling cutter is that there is no cutting edge on the side. In addition to the main cutting edge, the woodworking drill has a sharp cutting edge at the outer edge, which can cut off wood fibers and make the side of the hole smoother.

5. Tools for tenon hole processing: There are many special tools for tenon hole processing, including hollow square chisel (Figure 5), hollow square chisel with drill, chain drill and machine chisel. The end face of the hollow square chisel has a crescent-shaped cutting edge, which is used to cut the square angle around the drilling hole. A hollow square chisel with a drill bit is composed of a drill bit and a square chisel, and the drill bit is installed in the hollow square chisel. Chain drill tool is a kind of continuous rotating chain multi-tooth tool, which is similar to milling or longitudinal saw when machining tenon holes. When a machine chisel is used to open a tenon hole, the chisel makes a reciprocating cutting motion.
