The predecessor of Guangzhou University Library can be traced back to the original Guangzhou University (private) of 1927. The existing library consists of the University Town General Library and the Guihuagang Campus Branch (Guihuagang Branch of Guangdong Zhongshan Library), with a total area of nearly 60,000 square meters, of which the University Town Library has a building area of 56,000 square meters and a usable area of 4,9361square meter, and the Guihuagang Campus Branch has more than 3,000 square meters. By the end of 20 12, the library had collected 2.8 million paper books, 4,058 Chinese newspapers and periodicals, and 223 foreign and Hong Kong and Taiwan newspapers and periodicals. There are 25,000 CDs, more than 6,000 kinds of audio-visual materials, 2 Chinese databases 1, 36 foreign databases, self-built databases1,960,000 kinds of e-books, Chinese electronic journals1,more than 20,000 kinds of foreign electronic journals, and the total collection of digital resources reaches 26720GB. The total collection of books 1 ranks third among university libraries in Guangdong Province. Guangzhou University Library is the largest single campus library in China and one of the five landmark buildings in Guangzhou University Town.
