What is Manjianghong in essence?
In nature, Azolla is a pteridophyte, also known as tricornutum, purple algae, red duckweed and so on.

Manjianghong is a small red floating plant belonging to Panicum. Also known as purple algae, triceratops and duckweed. Manjiang Hongyuan is a kind of green manure crop, which is common in rice fields. Because of its fast growth and strong reproductive ability, it is easy to cause water pollution. Manjianghong grows well at 15~25℃, but grows slowly above 35℃. Too high or too low temperature will affect its normal growth.

Manjianghong's growing environment

Azolla is often associated with ANABAENA, which has the advantages of fast reproduction, high yield and strong adaptability. It usually grows in paddy fields, ponds, reservoirs and lakes. It needs high temperature during its growth, and too high or too low temperature will affect its growth. When the temperature is below 5 degrees or above 40 degrees, the growth will stop.

8 to 12 degrees, 15 to 20 degrees, the fastest growth rate, more than 35 degrees, the slower growth rate. In addition, pay attention to the pH value of water. It can grow in water with pH value of 3.5- 10, but the optimum pH value is 6.5-7.5.

Brief introduction of pteridophytes

Pteridophyte is a branch of the plant kingdom. Roots, stems and leaves all have real vascular tissues and reproduce by spores. Most of them have sporangia on the lower surface of leaves, which are clustered into a variety of punctate or linear sporangia groups, which are green at first, rusty yellow when they are old, some are bare, and some have various shapes of coverings.

Pteridophytes do not blossom and bear fruit, so it is generally difficult to distinguish them from seed plants in appearance. It has various shapes, from tiny herbs with a height of less than 5 mm to arboreal plants with a height of 20 meters.

There are about 12000 species of pteridophytes in the world, which are widely distributed all over the world except in desert and extremely dry and cold regions, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. According to the classification of pteridologist Qin Renchang, there are about 2,500 species of pteridophytes in China, belonging to 63 families and 228 genera.

Most of them like to live in the warm and humid environment of Bai Senlin and become an important part of the herb layer in forest vegetation, especially in South China and Southwest China. In ecological habits, there are aquatic, primary, rocky, epiphytic or entangled trunks.
