Shi Yongxin repents: Is it a scum of Buddhism or a hero of Shaolin Temple?
So, is Shi Yongxin a scum of Buddhism or a hero of Shaolin Temple? Perhaps ordinary people, including the Buddhist community, have completely different views. Some people think that Shi Yongxin is a reformer of Buddhism. He has built Shaolin Temple into a world-class temple, and he has also become a romantic figure in Buddhism and even the whole religious circle. However, some people think that what Shi Yongxin did violated the purpose of Buddhism and turned Shaolin Temple, a Buddhist holy place, into a secular place filled with smoke and evil obstacles. He was a Buddhist rebel and was driven out of the mountain gate. But under the guidance of practice to test the truth, or Zen, who can make Shaolin Temple bigger and stronger, whether it is a white cat or a black cat, whether it is a rebel or a disciple; Whoever can get the money, whether begging or cheating, is the abbot. As a result, Shi Yongxin became a hero of Shaolin Temple, pretending to be a hero, and started the opposite of Buddhism, which led to today's Shaolin Temple. In any case, turning the Buddhist temple holy land into a tourist attraction started from Shaolin Temple, and the initiator was Shi Yongxin himself. Turning Shaolin Temple into a commercial temple has become a model for the rapid development of Buddhist temples in China. Behind this so-called brilliant achievement, it is at the expense of the purity of temples and the sanctity of Buddhism, as well as at the expense of one's own moral degeneration and selfish desire expansion. Temples are no longer holy places for Buddhists and believers to worship, but degenerate places full of copper smell and commercial dirt. Even he lost his Buddha nature and chased the lewdness of dogs and horses every day. Beneath the dazzling and majestic appearance, he is a devil in cassock. In order to satisfy his personal desires, he went in and out of luxury cars equipped with full-time drivers, wearing a robe worth10.6 million yuan. He lives in a high-end hotel, drinks and eats meat every day, and is said to have broken the precepts and kept mistresses. His life is corrupt and degenerate, completely deviating from his duty of becoming a monk. Just like those nouveau riche, those rich and heartless rich people. There used to be a joke in Buddhism that dog meat passed through the intestines and stayed in the Buddha's heart, while Shi Yongxin lived in a Buddhist temple and could not see the Buddha. Although Shaolin Temple, as well as Shi Yongxin himself, did not make any statement on this matter. Maybe what they can deny is this repentance book, not Shi Yongxin's bring disgrace to oneself; But it is hard to deny the facts listed in it. Shi Yongxin's influence on the reputation of Shaolin Temple not only defiled the ancient temple of the Millennium, but also cast a shadow over the development of Buddhism in China. At the same time, it also puts itself in a very dangerous situation. People will say that Shi Yongxin, a man with a deep career, can't even cross over himself, so can he cross over all beings? This reminds me of Feng Zikai's prose "Buddha without Soul", which is about his house Yuanyuantang, 1938 was burned by the war. Some people feel wronged for him, thinking that he usually devotes himself to the Buddha, but in the end he can't get the blessing of the Buddha, that is, the so-called hall of seeing fate has also been destroyed, and all beings have destroyed the Buddha. People who hold this view are said to be Buddhist believers. They believe in Buddhism just to keep themselves safe, or because they do evil and seek liberation. Believing in Buddhism will benefit you and will definitely ward off evil spirits. Otherwise, why do you believe in Buddhism and pay for it? According to Feng Zikai, these people have long been tired of watching and disdained to associate with them. They don't believe in the morality of Buddhism, but only believe in the benefits brought by Buddhism, and they are not really practicing. They only care about doing business with Buddha. According to Mr. Feng Zikai, that is to say, they rely on Buddha to make profits, eat Buddha's food, or use incense money to do business with Bodhisattva. These people should be called anti-Buddhists. Most of these people are selfish and ugly. The selfish desires of others are much deeper than those who don't believe in Buddhism. Their devotion to Buddhism and vegetarianism is for personal happiness, just as businessmen profit from capital. Therefore, Feng Zikai believes that to truly believe in Buddhism, we must put aside selfish interests, realize the unity of Buddha's things and me, have a broad heart of compassion, not only love ourselves, but also love and care for all students. On the other hand, those who oppose Buddhism cherish things and have nothing to do with human suffering. In fact, they are not much different from Qi Xuanwang, who is kind enough to help animals but not people. These people are already a group of crazy people who are blinded by interests, forget the source, see the small and lose the big, and put the cart before the horse. I think it is very appropriate to measure Shi Yongxin's actions from the perspective of Feng Zikai. At best, Shi Yongxin is just those anti-Buddhists described by Feng Zikai. Being in a Buddhist temple, they didn't concentrate on worshipping Buddha, but took Purdue as their own responsibility. They are vegetarians, all for personal gain or for a temple. After all, they want to bargain with the bodhisattva with their Buddhist kung fu. Behind the peak of incense and the clouds of pilgrims are hidden Buddhist crises and great misfortune. At present, most Buddhist temples in China are transformed with Shaolin Temple as a model; And those abbots are also scrambling to follow Shi Yongxin's example and become reformers and entrepreneurs. At this point, I have a question: Is Shaolin Temple the only way for the so-called Buddhist reform? Is this the inevitable result of the development of Buddhism in the world? No wonder those believers have the idea that there is no Buddha, because now the Buddha has become the Buddha of happy ever after; Behind the Buddha, there is a tiger with blood in its mouth, peeping into the pockets of believers. For more than a century, the rise of human Buddhism is due to the sincere promotion of a group of Buddhist thinkers, such as Master Taixu, and the accumulation of long-term creative thinking on many impossible problems in the transitional society and modern life by the Buddha according to the basic principles of Buddhism. Therefore, the theory of human Buddhism is regarded as the crystallization of Buddhist wisdom in China in the 20th century. Is Shi Yongxin's reform a continuation and development of human Buddhism? In my opinion, it is not so much the humanization of Buddhism as the commercialization or vulgarization, which is the end of the development of Buddhism.
