History of Chaozhou Kung Fu Tea
Chaozhou kungfu tea originated in Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province with a long history. According to legend, during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, Li, then the magistrate of Chaozhou, drank a kind of tea boiled with red dates, longan and other tea leaves, which was deeply loved. He thought it was fragrant and strong, so he set up a teahouse in the official residence to promote it.

Since then, Chaozhou kungfu tea has been handed down. During the Republic of China, Chaozhou Kung Fu tea snacks were gradually formed, such as eating beef jerky and pickled fish. In addition, Chaozhou Kung Fu tea retains the characteristics of Hong Kong-style tea culture in western Guangdong, such as warm and refreshing scented tea and osmanthus tea.

Nowadays, Chaozhou Kung Fu tea has become an important part of Guangdong tea culture, and is known as the sister variety of Guangfu Kung Fu tea, enjoying a high reputation.
