Where does Bashan refer to?
Bashan, located in the west of China, is the general name of the mountainous area at the junction of Shaanxi, Sichuan and Hubei provinces in China.

Daba Mountain is also the watershed between Jialing River and Hanjiang River, and the geographical dividing line between Sichuan Basin and Hanzhong Basin. It stretches for more than 500 kilometers from east to west, so it is called Bashan, or Bashan for short. Daba Mountain Range consists of Micang Mountain, Daba Mountain (in a narrow sense), Da Shennongjia, Wudang Mountain and Jingshan Mountain.

The mountain range is northwest-southeast, with Hanshui River in the north, Yangtze River in the south, Hanshui River in the east and Jialing River in the west. The northeast, southeast and southwest are Nanyang Basin, Jianghan Plain and Chengdu Plain respectively. It is about 560 kilometers long from east to west and 140 kilometers wide from north to south.

The elevation of the ridge is generally about 2000 meters. Limestone, dolomite and sandstone are widely distributed in mountainous areas. Karst landform is developed, with many peaks, caves and underground rivers. The valley height difference is 800- 1200m.
