Mother's Day just passed a few days ago, and now, our children's own day - Children's Day is coming.
I asked my father: "How did you celebrate June 1st when you were children?" My father said that when he was a child, he lived in a forest farm in the northeast, and there were forests everywhere. It is not rich there, but the scenery is beautiful, there is no environmental pollution, and the birds are singing and the flowers are fragrant everywhere. Every year on Children's Day, teachers lead them to carry out various interesting activities. He said that there were two items that impressed him very deeply, one was "finding notes" and the other was the essay competition. "Looking for a note" is a game. The teacher marks out an activity area in the forest and ties a note on a tree branch or next to a tree root. The name of the prize is written on it - mostly "eraser" and "pencil". " and so on, the price is only a few cents, and the more expensive ones are only a few cents. Whoever finds it can get the prize written on the note. None of these prizes seem valuable now, but the children at that time were very happy after receiving them. Composition writing is my father's strong point. Every time my father's composition is considered an excellent composition, it will be copied to the blackboard newspaper, which makes my father very proud. Although they write essays like us, the topics given by the teacher are very simple, such as "Spring in the Forest Farm", "My Dad", "My Deskmate" and so on.
Dad spoke with great enthusiasm, and I listened with great interest. Dad's "June 1" is so interesting. Thinking about our "June 1", it seems to be much inferior.
I remember last year's "June 1", the school held a get-together as in previous years, commended the outstanding young pioneers and the top ten in the school, went to Jigang to sing, and gave each student a A pencil bag as a prize. Although we also held activities, the students were not as happy as my father and others because the activities planned by the school and teachers were not to our liking. During the party on the playground, the students all sat in the sun, and the teacher did not allow them to speak loudly. They all complained so much that they were not in the mood to watch the show. When they went to Jigang to sing songs, the students did not do so voluntarily. In the afternoon, you can have a good rest and relax at home, but you take a car all the way to Jigang to sing songs. Who can be happy?
Every time, the teacher asks me to write a composition with the title of "Happy Childhood" At that time, the students were biting their pens and trying hard to find the word "happiness" in their childhood filled with books, but often failed, and in the end they had to make up things, put away their pens hastily, or even plagiarize. But what can be done? Today, as material conditions are getting better and better, our childlike innocence is becoming less and less. The reason why dad's childhood was happier than ours was because they had less study pressure than we did and had more opportunities to go into nature than we did. "Nature"? For those of us who live in cities full of steel and concrete, a small patch of grass and a few small flowers next to high-rise buildings may be considered "nature". Of course we still have "happiness". When we get full marks on an exam, or when a classmate has an embarrassing moment, we will all be "happy" for a while. But it can only be "for a while." "Don't be too happy or proud when you get full marks!", "Don't base your happiness on the pain of others." The teacher will teach us this when we are "happy". Perhaps, real happiness occurs on a weekend when there is little homework, and in a spring when the school can organize spring outings.
Happiness, what a beautiful thing it sounds.
How I look forward to a happy "June 1."!
