After walking for a while, Kangxi saw a farmhouse in front, in which an old man with white hair and his sons were preparing to eat. There are steaming, brown corn dry food and fragrant corn porridge on the dining table, as well as stewed mushrooms with rabbit meat, roasted golden needles and a large plate of cold dishes. Kangxi felt even hungrier at this time. He got off the horse and went into the farmhouse, saying, "I passed by because it was late and I was hungry." I have to pay more money to borrow food. " The villagers are very straightforward and hospitable, and immediately give up their seats.

Kangxi was so hungry that he was full after three or two times and asked, "Who made it so delicious? Must be a clever wife? " The old man smiled and said, "No, there are no women in my family. Only three sons. The eldest son went hunting in the mountains, the second son went chopping wood, and the third son grew vegetables and cooked at home. This meal was cooked by the third son. " Kangxi was very surprised and looked at Saner up and down. Just then, the emperor's attendants saw the emperor's royal horse outside and found it. Only then did the family know that the bearer turned out to be the emperor, and they quickly kowtowed in fear. Kangxi said with a smile: "I am very happy to see your family enjoying peace happily!" He ordered a hundred taels of silver before riding back to the palace.

A few days later, Kangxi remembered the delicious corn porridge and sent someone to find the old man's third son and let him specialize in corn porridge in the imperial kitchen. Since then, corn porridge has been written into the chef's menu.

In addition to this legend, it is said that Empress Dowager Cixi also likes corn porridge.

When Britain and France invaded Beijing, Cixi and Emperor Xianfeng fled to Chengde. /kloc-Eight-Nation Alliance went to Beijing in 0/900, and Empress Dowager Cixi wanted to flee again, all the way to the west, which was very embarrassing.

After Empress Dowager Cixi returned to Beijing, she often missed the corn paste and asked the chef to cook it, but she couldn't make it taste. Later, Cixi also inscribed two plaques, "Spirit of Immortals" and "Spirit of Mountains and Rivers", and presented them to Ciyun Temple to thank them for their contributions.
