The lazy fish is also known as the sucker fish.
The sucker fish is so named because its first dorsal fin metamorphoses into a sucker. The fish often attaches itself to the bottom of sharks or other big fish, sea fish or ships with suction cups, allowing these big animals or ships to carry it around the world's oceans, hence the name "the laziest ocean fish" and "free traveler" called. After fishermen catch a live sucker fish, they tie it with a rope to its tail stalk and release it back into the sea, where it is allowed to attach to turtles or big fish, thereby "catching" turtles and big fish.
Scavenger
Also known as sucker fish and angler fish (Plecostomus punctatus), it is native to Brazil and Venezuela.
Characteristics:
The fish body is semi-cylindrical, with wide sides, and the tail fin is shallowly forked. Inferior mouth. The back is broad, the abdomen is flat, and the left and right pelvic fins are connected to form a circular fan-shaped sucker. Viewed from the ventral surface, it looks like a small Pipa fish, so it is also called Pipa fish. The body of the fish is dark brown and covered with black spots. Body length can reach 250 mm.
Feeding characteristics
Strong physique, strong adaptability, easy to raise. It likes weakly acidic soft water, and the suitable water temperature is above 20°C. It is often adsorbed on the aquarium wall or aquatic plants and licks the moss. It is the best "scavenger" in the aquarium. There are sometimes fights between the same kind, so it can be mixed with large tropical fish. It is difficult to distinguish between males and females. The abdomen of sexually mature female fish is slightly more swollen than that of male fish.
Reproductive characteristics
Oviparous, difficult to reproduce. There is currently no experience with successful breeding.
