No matter from other places or Beijing, there are opportunities! I am from Beijing. I used to work as a front desk in a five-star Shangri-La hotel. At that time, many students came from Northeast China, Henan, Wuhan and other places.
Education can be used as a reference, but education level is not the only condition for entering five-star hotels in Beijing. As long as you have a high school education or a technical secondary school education, it is ok. (The sales department and the finance department need a relatively high degree, especially the finance department, which needs relevant financial knowledge and relevant work experience, and the sales department also needs certain sales experience).
The front desk requires a good foreign language, and it is not a big problem for English to reach Band 4.
Housekeeping department doesn't need a high level of foreign language, as long as it can communicate with guests.
Attendants in the food and beverage department need to have relevant food and beverage knowledge, have low foreign language requirements, be able to communicate, understand recipes (English) and introduce dishes.
Other departments will not introduce it.
If you don't have a letter of introduction, or if you know someone familiar in the hotel, you can recommend yourself directly to the personnel department of the hotel. Remember, it's best to bring your academic certificates, or what relevant training you have passed and what certificates you have obtained, so as to help the personnel department understand your background. If there are vacancies at that time, the personnel department will arrange an interview for you. If there is no vacancy at that time, you can fill in a resume backup, and the personnel department will contact you once there is a vacancy suitable for you. In this regard, the hotel personnel system is still relatively flexible.
I wish you a good chance ~ ~ ~
