Longsheng Township was built in July 195 1, and Longsheng Town was built in July 1985, both under the jurisdiction of Longsheng District of Pengxi County, also known as Starlight. 1September, 1992, the area was withdrawn and Longsheng, Yongqian, Shimen (Guangming), Tongxin and Zhu Min towns were built to govern Longsheng and Longsheng towns. There are 50 administrative villages, 2 neighborhood committees and 5 19 cooperatives in the town.
