Whether it is the emperor or his subjects, or at dawn, people will eat much better food than usual to commemorate this day. There is basically no meat and no joy, but New Year's Eve is an exception. People want to be vegetarian in jiaozi, not because their families are poor, but because there is such a custom to commemorate its special significance.
When there are vegetarians in the Qing Palace, we will be vegetarian in jiaozi on New Year's Eve, which means that the old and the new will alternate according to God's will next year. When Nurhachi led the Thirteen Legacies to establish the Houjin, they killed too many innocent lives. This is to repent and reflect on the loss of these innocent lives.
The palace has always maintained the custom of eating jiaozi on New Year's Eve to express the hardships and difficulties of ancestors' pioneering achievements. At that time, it was difficult to see fresh vegetables in winter in the north. Jiaozi's fillings are mainly dried vegetables, such as horse teeth, day lilies, fungus, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, dried gluten, tofu and eggs, but delicious food can still be made.
As a generation of kings, it is very valuable to know how to lament the deep suffering brought by war to the people and set an example to commemorate them. Such a king deserves our praise, and jiaozi, a vegetarian, is used to commemorate such things. I think this year's king is very worthwhile.
