1. Soak the seedlings in clean water
Planting Ophiopogon japonicus is best arranged after harvest. Remove the mature roots of Ophiopogon japonicus, leaving a stem of 0.5 cm. Pick out those Ophiopogon japonicus with strong seedlings, cut off the top of leaves and stay to raise seedlings. Tie these single seedlings into a small cluster every four or five trees, soak them in clear water for a while, and you can plant them.
2. Preventive measures
When planting Ophiopogon japonicus seedlings, we should pay attention to the following points: First, avoid high temperature planting. Strong sunlight will wither the newly planted seedlings, which is not conducive to the rooting and growth of seedlings. Therefore, cloudy or rainy days are a good time to plant Ophiopogon japonicus seedlings, which can effectively ensure the smooth survival of Ophiopogon japonicus seedlings; Second, there should be drains in the ground. Although Ophiopogon japonicus likes a humid and warm growing environment, its roots can't breathe well if there is too much water in the ground. The newly planted Ophiopogon japonicus will rot quickly because it is soaked in water for a long time, leading to the death of the whole seedling. So drainage must be done well.
